What is it about American schools that allows this stuff to happen? I’m fairly certain I could lose my job registration for using flash cards like that in class. The Florida law that everyone lost their shit over is pretty much identical policies in place here regarding the teaching of sex education. How did they manage to infiltrate American schools?

Oh hi, I think you're the teacher who introduced the super cute Pantosaurus song!

About how did they manage to pull this off, I don't understand either. There are lots of these crazy teachers featured on Libs of Tiktok, stuff like coming out as nonbinary and/or trans to 8 year olds.

Yeah, you can blame me for the Pantosaurus earworm!

In over a decade of teaching hundreds of 7-11 year olds, I’ve discussed my sexuality with any of them a grand total of zero times. I look at libs of TikTok and sit their cringing at everything, from the unprofessional grooming and clothes to the absolutely ridiculous things they brag about telling their pupils.

It's a good and cute earworm. Caught myself singing the tune again today. No regretti spaghetti.

If one of your colleagues turned up on Libs of Tiktok for the wrong reasons, would the school take action?

Yep. In England we have fairly strict rules about professional conduct and bringing the profession into disrepute (education is devolved so each of the home countries has different rules, but I would think they’d be broadly similar in Scotland, Wales and NI). So any even slightly dodgy social media posts/admissions will cause disciplinary proceedings of some form. Depending on what was said in the posting you could be formally reprimanded, fired and if it were serious enough struck off the teaching register (it’d have to be pretty fucked up to warrant being struck off though).

Getting featured on LoTT will almost certainly be bad for your career, especially if a paper like the Daily Mail picks it up…if that happens you’re almost certainly going to lose your job.

Taking action is good.

Man i wish my teachers had conduct standards, especially the ones who threw my books out because i didn't answer the question about patriotism correctly when I was 7-8 years old.

Off topic: I love your name and I want to eat you.

Haha! Thank you! Originally I thought to have it as BurntTofu because I'm so burned by all the clowning. But I decided against it because it's such an injustice on tofu. So I went for the next best thing which is GrilledTofu

You know what lesbians and gay men wanted? Just kids being taught some people liked the same sex. You know some girls like girls some boys like boys. So that kids growing up would know that is okay if they had a crush on the same sex. That’s all we wanted schools to teach kids

Look at what the TQ+ wants.

That still has unintended consequences though.

If you teach kids about sexuality before they have one most will put themselves in the category of bi or ace which only confuses them more when their actually sexuality kicks in. We see this happening with kids right now, whole classes identifying as queer but if a kid says they are straight or gay they get bullied.

If you give kids boxes they will put themselves in one.

Of course telling kids their sexuality might be fluid until they are in their mid twenties or they might go through phases is complete forbidden even through it's clearly observable fact.

Kids have enough stress with school in general, so this push for gender identity always struck me as "aren't you making children even more stressed?"

Lo and behold not a single queer kiddo i had interacted isn't burderned with some form of severe mental problems.

Seriously, all you need to tell a kid is the very basics of reproduction. Don’t even mention sexuality in school, period, unless for some reason a kid tells their teacher about a crush. That’s when you affirm that they can like whoever they want.

People who desire personal glory will always fight for whatever gets them raised on a pedestal.

There’s a sub for poking fun at anarchists too? You guys think of everything.

Eh these people are even dragging the term “anarchist” through the mud. I just want a little bit of decentralization so more places are capable of self-sustainability in the event of any sort of breakdown of trade. Otherwise we’re in for an inevitable repeat of the Bronze Age collapse.

Worst part is, this was in the county I grew up in. It's in North Carolina.

Come now, this is just literal brainwashing.
