I recently went bowling for the first time. How on earth does the Google know that and advertise bowling to me?

Google geo tracking knows that you were at a bowling alley for an extended period of time. It could also be that someone you were with mentioned it on social media, like Facebook. Facebook knows who hangs out together, in part through geo tracking. They also listen in through microphones and their AI picks up on key words. I have seen all of this in action.
