Well-written, but I noticed you invoking this yourself. Probably not deliberately; we're taught how to do this in school.
Which frustrates me, by the way; how are we meant to defeat "persuasive techniques" when we don't get taught how to recognise and ignore them? Instead, we're taught how to use them, thus suggesting that they're OK to use.
