The vivid cartoon image should lock it into your mind. Trust me there's much worse when you search for "stabs". Though colourful, it's hardly graphic.

It doesn't represent my philosophy on the matter.

What are you reading into it and what is your "philosophy on the matter"?

I didn't state my philosophy. I created an acronym term and definition: " STABs : Shills, Trolls, and Bots "

Not all bots are bad, nor are they all run by weak cowards. You omitted trolls. How do you feel about trolls?

STABs is just a shortened form for infiltrators who may/may not be up to no good. IMO, the cartoon is more than appropriate for promoting this cautionary awareness term for popular usage. I was lucky it was just there. Finding another image would NOT have been fun.

I asked to find insights in your views, not to point out inconsistencies, yet regretfully, I'm going to because maybe by pointing to them you might express a more refocused perspective for us both to benefit from.

I don't entirely know what my philosophy is because I'm still working it out.

Fair enough. I don't need to hold you to anything, but unless I'm missing something this statement back-peddles on your previous statement:

It is too aggressive, detrimentally so. It doesn't represent my philosophy on the matter.

Perhaps we should forget about the "philosophy" and simply address why you think the image is detrimentally aggressive. There are much worse images presented on SaidIt, not even including those NSFW. But it's not a contest and while I could defend the primitive cartoon graphic all day, I'll just let you explain why the bloody stabs toon and "STABs" term are not compatible, while you associated these with critical thinking, education, free speech, and a bloodless "whatever" (I've avoided using a specific term like revolt, labeling, witch hunt, or whatever it is you think I'm doing with this new STABs acronym term).

        Excellent point!!!

I hadn't considered that reverse angle. Specifically, I'd never considered: "Compiling and publishing information about people using shill tactics is an appropriate use of free speech to defend free speech."

I was actually thinking the image was appropriate as the STABs are actually attacking SaidIt, not hypothetical users potentially attacking STABs with acts of violence in real life, risking jail or worse. There's a HUGE world of difference between the them. Obviously I don't advocate violence.

However, I would not say that it's "inappropriate and indefensible". We are all on an anonymous forum, though I don't care to hide my identity. (I also don't give a shit if people know my contact info, just as you'd find in a phone book of yore. However, I would care if anyone doxxed my IP or banking info for abuse.) If any of our info was involuntarily released there's be a serious problem bigger than some hypothetical potentials.

Can't you just take another stab at it so to speak?

The concept is out there. I will continue to use the "STABs" term. I'm not going to delete this post. I still stand by it. Many will misread it regardless, as they do for everything else anyways. I see no reason to re-do it. Were I to revisit it I might use a troll image or two. Feel free to do your own thing with it.
