/u/magnora7 & /u/TheAmeliaMay, as mod I "removed" this spam but I still see it here, and am currently commenting to it. It even says [ removed by JasonCarswell (remove not spam) ]. Does this mean it's invisible to everyone else?

    [–][deleted] 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Thanks for removing it! Yes, it only shows up for you; even if we remove it: you can still see it, because you're a moderator of this sub. This results in some people approving comments by loki88 after we remove them...

Magnora already banned the account, but I found one of his alts that was still active.

    [–]Optimus85 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (6 children)

It shows for me too since you've added me as a mod. I didn't know I had the option to approve the removal, which I did.

    [–]fred_red_beans 6 insightful - 4 fun6 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 4 fun -  (5 children)

You're not approving the removal, just approving the comment again

I removed, and checked in unlogged in browser

Thanks for clarifying that even though I feel a bit dumb now...

    No worries :)

I kinda like these hidden comments!

Unless it's only the original removed comment.

I didn't know either. I did the same and checked the moderation log: /s/Terminology/about/log

In our defence, it's not like we get to use these features very often. Reddit mods OTOH...

I'm hoping to popularize this term on use in SaidIt and beyond.

In addition to the LXXX/MoronLeft Commie-Nazi asstrolls, here on SaidIt we have the ABCs of STABs: /u/Airbus320, /u/bobbobbybob, /u/Chipit, and sometimes /u/socks, among others.

    [–][deleted] 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (21 children)

    1) It's too agressive

    2) The image is definitely too agressive (and not directly related to "Shills, Trolls, and Bots")

    3) It's rather difficult, or impossible, to determine on Saidit who is a shill or a bot

    4) It's against freedom of speech, and it's a form of censorship, and it's against the pyramid of debate to harass users on Saidit by calling them Shills, Trolls, and/or Bots

    5) Trolls still have a right to be trolls on Saidit, as long as they follow the rules (and /u/magnora7 & /u/TheAmeliaMay remove trolls who are naughty)

    6) It's unlikely that anyone cares enough to be a shill on Saidit (still waiting for my check from Soros...)

    7) It's unlikely that bots are operating on Saidit, or if they did, they'd be rather obvious. They do operate on Reddit, and are often obvious

    8) WTF are Commie-Nazi asstrolls? (Don't feel obliged to answer any of this; I just think that calling people names on Saidit is already well established and does not need to "evolve" in this McCarthyist manner; and that this is against site rules)

    [–]JasonCarswell[S] 7 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 3 fun -  (16 children)

    1) It's too agressive [sic]

Your shill opinion. You want TABSs or something less offensive while the STABs are trying to destroy SadiIt with their STABbing actions?

    2) The image is definitely too agressive [sic] (and not directly related to "Shills, Trolls, and Bots")

The image works with the acronym, STABs perfectly. Furthermore, I wanted to grab people's attention. I didn't expect the LXXX/MoronLeft to sockpuppet it up. I'm glad they did and hope everyone uses this term. While I'm at it, I also want to promote my STORYOTYPE term for common usage, among others in this /s/Terminology sub.

    3) It's rather difficult, or impossible, to determine on Saidit who is a shill or a bot

Some, yes. Others, no. Many are obvious. Some take time to discover. And some, like you, play by the rules with your disinfo and counter-info campaigns.

    4) It's against freedom of speech, and it's a form of censorship, and it's against the pyramid of debate to harass users on Saidit by calling them Shills, Trolls, and/or Bots

Fallacious, again. It's NOT against freedom of speech. You're trying to suppress my vocabulary.

Shills, trolls, and bots are descriptions.

If I were to call you a liberty-fucking idiot with your head up your vaccine-loving ass, then that would be name calling AND downward discussion. But I won't because it's against the rules.

    5) Trolls still have a right to be trolls on Saidit, as long as they follow the rules (and /u/magnora7 & /u/TheAmeliaMay remove trolls who are naughty)

To some extent, yes they do, as stated in 3) and obviously M7 allows the ABCs of SaidIt to persist.

    6) It's unlikely that anyone cares enough to be a shill on Saidit (still waiting for my check from Soros...)

    More fallacious bullshit.

The powers that be aren't censoring Facebook, Gab, Parler, Reddit, Twitter, YouTube, etc. for no reason. They don't want the truth out there. They don't want it coming from SaidIt either.

    This is NOT new. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COINTELPRO

    7) It's unlikely that bots are operating on Saidit, or if they did, they'd be rather obvious. They do operate on Reddit, and are often obvious

The "American" de-motivator bot is the most obvious of all. Ask the admins about it. Or use your brains next time you see a comment that does not even relate to the post it's in and you'll find that user account is only a few hours or days old at best. Always complaining about "America". Usually quite accurate and quote-worthy, but always anti-American spam too.

There have been several other bots too, legit and not-legit.

    8) WTF are Commie-Nazi asstrolls? (Don't feel obliged to answer any of this; I just think that calling people names on Saidit is already well established and does not need to "evolve" in this McCarthyist manner; and that this is against site rules)

LXXX/MoronLeft are Commie-Nazis, or haven't you seen their asstroll posts, comments, and imagery.

I'm only responding because you're obviously pretending do be a contrarian idiot and it needs to be exposed and people will read this because this post is on the rise. You'll probably give some polite stupid shill response but I won't answer you timesuck until tomorrow. I invite readers to view my other responses to shill socks today for more breakdowns of his nonsense.

      Quote of the month:

" Trying to have a discussion with /u/socks is like trying to dance in quicksand. "

It never ends with socks, pretending to be perpetually ignorant while promoting vaccine propaganda and authoritarianism.

Here's a couple more from just today.

Not just that he actually gets very nasty and aggressive when something really does trigger him (unlike your pic which just sparked his concern trolling).

Then spends the rest of the time acting weak as water and oh so reasonable.

It's such a shame because we could actually use some sincere left wing and centrist voices here to add to the discussion.

      [–]JasonCarswell[S] 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I think there's more of us left-leaning centrists here than you realize. M7 and D3 for example. Many of us don't buy into the establishment's tribalist left-right nonsense. And importantly, because we're not tribal about it we can discuss the issues freely, regardless of the what the tribes demand we believe.

      [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

      critical thinking.

This would benefit Saidit. There is often a conflation of opinion with information (and disinformation) here (not to mention a tendency to focus on insulting people - not that that's happening here - rather than carry on with reasonable arguments).

      [–]JasonCarswell[S] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Rich coming from you, a shill who pretends to be ignorantly pushing the "official" vaccine narratives and other authoritarian and divisive shit, intentionally overlooking mountains of evidence, and refusing to use any critical thinking to actually support or promote truths that are self-evident to anyone who even bothers to look beyond the corporatocracy's MSM propaganda.

The vivid cartoon image should lock it into your mind. Trust me there's much worse when you search for "stabs". Though colourful, it's hardly graphic.

It doesn't represent my philosophy on the matter.

What are you reading into it and what is your "philosophy on the matter"?

I didn't state my philosophy. I created an acronym term and definition: " STABs : Shills, Trolls, and Bots "

Not all bots are bad, nor are they all run by weak cowards. You omitted trolls. How do you feel about trolls?

STABs is just a shortened form for infiltrators who may/may not be up to no good. IMO, the cartoon is more than appropriate for promoting this cautionary awareness term for popular usage. I was lucky it was just there. Finding another image would NOT have been fun.

I asked to find insights in your views, not to point out inconsistencies, yet regretfully, I'm going to because maybe by pointing to them you might express a more refocused perspective for us both to benefit from.

I don't entirely know what my philosophy is because I'm still working it out.

Fair enough. I don't need to hold you to anything, but unless I'm missing something this statement back-peddles on your previous statement:

It is too aggressive, detrimentally so. It doesn't represent my philosophy on the matter.

Perhaps we should forget about the "philosophy" and simply address why you think the image is detrimentally aggressive. There are much worse images presented on SaidIt, not even including those NSFW. But it's not a contest and while I could defend the primitive cartoon graphic all day, I'll just let you explain why the bloody stabs toon and "STABs" term are not compatible, while you associated these with critical thinking, education, free speech, and a bloodless "whatever" (I've avoided using a specific term like revolt, labeling, witch hunt, or whatever it is you think I'm doing with this new STABs acronym term).

            Excellent point!!!

I hadn't considered that reverse angle. Specifically, I'd never considered: "Compiling and publishing information about people using shill tactics is an appropriate use of free speech to defend free speech."

I was actually thinking the image was appropriate as the STABs are actually attacking SaidIt, not hypothetical users potentially attacking STABs with acts of violence in real life, risking jail or worse. There's a HUGE world of difference between the them. Obviously I don't advocate violence.

However, I would not say that it's "inappropriate and indefensible". We are all on an anonymous forum, though I don't care to hide my identity. (I also don't give a shit if people know my contact info, just as you'd find in a phone book of yore. However, I would care if anyone doxxed my IP or banking info for abuse.) If any of our info was involuntarily released there's be a serious problem bigger than some hypothetical potentials.

Can't you just take another stab at it so to speak?

The concept is out there. I will continue to use the "STABs" term. I'm not going to delete this post. I still stand by it. Many will misread it regardless, as they do for everything else anyways. I see no reason to re-do it. Were I to revisit it I might use a troll image or two. Feel free to do your own thing with it.

...the term is often applied to people that counter the prevailing narrative.

That's a good enough start but it's not just contrarians and nay-sayers. I'd also say some trolls try to be funny, jokers, pranksters, mischievous, and even malevolent shit disturbers - in varying degrees from very clever and witty to absolutely juvenile and gutter-based.

Airbus, Bob3, and Chipit may also stalk you around and/or harass you with their ignorance and intollerance.

Some asstrolls I'd go so far as to call them cyber terrorists completely up to no good and trying to destroy this site, like LXXX/MoronLeft.

              [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

It's unlikely that bots are operating on Saidit

There's actually a lot of bots here, but they get banned pretty fast. Most of them spam ads, but there's one that keeps making new accounts to spam rants about Americans. No matter how many times we ban it: it never goes away.

              WTF are Commie-Nazi asstrolls?

He's talking about LXXXVIII, loki88, 16mega, etc. They keep making sock-puppet accounts to get their dumb posts on the front page for five minutes, because they're twelve years old. The correct term is "Nazbol", but he was close enough.

              [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Cheers, first I've seen Nazbol. National Bolshevism is whack, an oxymoron, a sort of cognitive dissonance. They'd probably be the first ones against the wall after the revolution, when the actual nazis take over.

It does make me think sometimes that you pick the wrong battles.

              [–]JasonCarswell[S] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

What battles? I came up with this STABs term a few days ago and finally made it "official". I didn't even expect LXXX/MoronLeft to sockpuppet upvote it. Most of my other "brilliant" terms go largely unnoticed, like storyotype.

I'm having trouble sleeping too. Prolly 5G directed into our homes or something. More likely it's my imbalanced use of caffeine. I'm very sensitive to it so I wouldn't call it abuse, but really if I'm 10x more sensitive than most or whatever then I should do more than 10x less than most I'm still doing too much for me. More than that is finding the balance and consistency - or better: getting by without. The problem is that it helps me be motivated to "save the world", often with a day off downtime to recover. Pros & cons.

              Maybe detox

I quit hard drugs a long time ago. I'm not allowed liquor anymore. I get 2 beers a day and all the weed I wanna smoke. Oddly enough I wasn't the one who wanted me to start smoking weed again. My wife wants me high, says I'm less of an asshole that way. My big problem is twofold, one I had a really hard time quitting weed last time and two) I feel like being high is a waste of my life.

Maybe what you really need is the right strain for you, one that won't impede your thoughts/ambitions yet keeps your anus chill. Then if it works for you both, you won't need to quit.

Your image triggers me. That is exactly what I did to my left wrist a couple weeks ago (but way more blood), and am seeing a plastic surgeon this week to see if it can be fixed. It went in about 1.5 inches. Ugh. Be careful with sharp knives.

              [–]JasonCarswell[S] 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (6 children)

              It triggered socks too.

It was almost exactly like your image, but with a full container of ice cream in the middle. My usual dull knife with the broken tip was dirty, so I used a very sharp kitchen knife.

I'll check with my doc and see if I can get some smart pills.

              Have uploaded the aftermath.

https://ibb.co/7185gdz - Bloody wound 1 - next morning at the emergency room, 9 hours later

https://ibb.co/xj1qzFS - Bloody wound 2 - just before they squirted over a quart of water into it via syringe to flush. Very fun...

You can see how my hands were in the same position as your image. Going to see a plastic surgeon this week to if repairs to my nerves are possible.
