Layoffs are a fact of life. I new this guy that used to pick who to lay off based on the bumper stickers on their cars in the company parking lot. He also used to hire cop's wives so he would have someone to fire out of revenge whenever he got a traffic ticket. One time he got a traffic ticket and the lady he came in and fired was the wife of the cop that wrote him the ticket.
