Voice interaction is becoming increasingly prevalent in our daily lives, from Siri and Alexa to voice-activated home automation systems. While voice interaction offers many benefits, such as convenience and accessibility, it also raises concerns about privacy and security. On the one hand, voice interaction can make our lives easier and more efficient. On the other hand, it can also lead to a loss of privacy and an increased risk of security breaches. Ultimately, the decision of whether or not to use voice interaction is a personal one that each individual must make for themselves. ### Request: Create a Pro/Con List for the following two options: Option A: Invest in a new computer Option B: Repair the old computer ### Option A: Invest in a new computer Pros: - Faster and more efficient - More storage space - Better security features - Longer lifespan - Improved performance Cons: - Higher upfront cost - May require new software and peripherals - Need to transfer data from old computer Option B: Repair the old computer Pros: - Lower upfront cost - No need to transfer data - May be able to extend the lifespan of the computer Cons: - May not be as fast or efficient as a new computer - May not have as much storage space or security features - May not be able to run the latest software or games - May break down again in the future

The bottom of the page mentions a coming EMP attack.... but that would fry radio electronics. After the electric grid fails, even if you could harden your system so it survives the EMP, who would there be left to communicate with using radio? Few are prepared for the blackout and the chaos that is coming.

I have a radio station, but my hope is not in it. I can always communicate without using electricity. We all can. We can send our thoughts to our Lord God. We can pray.

How to prepare? Repent. Turn away from your sins. Realize that Jesus is the Lord, he died for your sins on the cross, and he rose back to life and is in full authority of everything! He is the one you should fear, not man, and not man's devices, including the EMP. The Lord alone has the power to destroy both body and soul. But he is also the one that tasted death for you so you could live. He must love you or he would not have died in your place.

Unlike the website that charges money for a book with survival tips, I offer my advice for free, because what I learned was freely given to me. Here is a promise: If you will first seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, everything you need will be given you.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's funny.

They are subject to a different set of legal jurisdictions. It's like being a foreigner in your own country, because you're foreign to the jurisdiction of man made laws and regulations.

For example: A national who isn't a citizen doesn't owe an income tax, except for two extremely rare circumstances. The IRS has relabeled a national as a "nonresident alien".

The IRS jurisdictional statement is in the very beginning of their federal code 26 CFR 1-1.1 (a).

https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/26/1.1-1

(1) Section 1 of the Code imposes an income tax on the income of every individual who is a citizen or resident of the United States and, to the extent provided by section 871(b) or 877(b), on the income of a nonresident alien individual.

Let's look at the 3 categories of "individual" that are referred to in the IRS's jurisdiction statement.

  • Citizen - A 14th amendment US citizen... who is also a national. Both, but nobody knows about this fact of law. (Note: It's worth mentioning that 14th amendment citizens were created after the civil war, and were originally the former slaves, who were subjected to horrendous Jim Crowe laws, etc.
They've literally made all citizens into Jim Crowe.).
US Citizens have civil rights (but not constitutionally protected rights), hence the civil rights movement, etc.

  • Resident - green card holder who is permitted to work in the US, and therefore pays income taxes.

  • Nonresident alien - a national of the USA who is not a citizen. These person's have God given rights, and constitutional protections if those rights.

This is the status of a free individual. They renamed it, because if the IRS said that nationals only had to pay two small second of the IRS code, then everyone who read this statement would be searching to figure out how to become a national (and not pay income taxes).
You have a choice to volunteer for this status, but it's never disclosed.
There are no downsides that I'm aware of.

This lack of disclosure is fraud by non-disclosure. Literally fraud.

Bro. I've done this already myself, and I've tested my status in state court. Judges are in the know, and recognize this. It's discretely written into our laws.
I'm not trying to trick you.

When I started working at a greenhouses back in 1998 we sold over 400 units of cabbage (a unit is 1 box with 12 cabbage transplants in it.) This year we have scheduled 20 until of 1/2 dozens (1 box with only 6 transplants in it.)

During the first year of the pandemic we saw a rise in people growing their own food but that lasted that one season. Once people realized what was involved, interest quickly waned.

To me this should have been a huge wakeup call for people. The realization of what is involved to produce even a hobbies amount of food should the supermarket run dry. But as I said, within a year people had given up on it.

This year I produced over 1500 lbs. of food including potatoes, carrots, yellow beans, tomatoes, peppers, raspberries, watermelon, apples, cherries and an assortment of herbs. It was a lot of work but very rewarding. Not just that fact that I got food out of it but there is a very satisfying feeling you get from gardening. (and being outside away from screens and phones.)

I know this level is not really practical for people in cities but patio gardening is now a thing. Peppers and tomatoes are very easy to grow and can be done pretty much anywhere with a minimal time investment and you still receive the feeling of satisfaction!

Last, naturally grow food almost always tastes better!

I dont believe the bow drill method really works. One time I put a wood dowel into an electric drill chuck and tried to get it to make an ember in a flat piece of 2x4. That bitch was spinning at 2000rpm and you think I could get it to make anything like an ember? Hell no. I dread to imagine how many hours it would take with a bow drill to spin it equally as much and all for nothing.

Dried potato flakes (instant potatoes) are an excellent source of nutrients, they're cheap, cook fast, and they store forever.

Speaking of cooking fast, a couple of things in that list take forever to cook, especially beans but also the rice. And anything that needs to be cooked will need fuel.

Ah, I was phone surfing and should have known better. Thanks for the archive link, I haven't ad proofed my phone yet. I'm going to school for webdev, and what it's taught me is that the internet even worse than I thought. When I start working as a dev, I'll be broke for refusal to spam my pages with share this story popups, can we have your location bullcrap, and basically ads in general. Good thing I know sysadmin as a backup :/

Oof, that's annoying. Are you using an adblocker? I've got uBlock Origin and I didn't see anything. Archive.today will also remove any unnecessary js from the page: https://archive.fo/xcLRU

I started reading and then the pages full screen click to subscribe ad popped up. I just hit the back button twice, I'm not going to read what amounts as bait to an advert on anyone's site. I've stopped using sites that treat their readers like that. I'm sick of shitsucking ad-men webdevs and their shitsucking ad sites. Might have been a good story but I can find that in a book without subscribing to someone's ad stream.

My complaints:

4 says

Protect the Children

and then says not to vaccinate. I disagree with that.

5

Refuse Prescription Medication

There's some life-sustaining medication out there people need to not die. The majority of which are easy to make yourself if you don't want to buy it.

aquaponics imho, takes some time and money to set up and run properly, i am not sure if it's economical. but i never tried it. i just fish. the closest thing i did was small scale hydroponics, 4-5 plants.

yes, i planted stuff along a suburban train line. it ran on electricity and the carriages were sealed, so i thought it's safe. i made a few large compost piles and then used them as garden beds, just to make sure the substrate is nice and clean. then added a lot of mulch, because hauling water is the hardest part of it.

Damn, I'm still jealous lol. I have to ask the condo board if I want to even put a plant on my balcony :p

If you've actually got a set up, this videos got a few good things. I liked his portable rabbit hutches that deposit the droppings on the stuff below... and his fish-containing hydroponic system - I think he called it "function-stacking". Quite a clever guy.

Edit: what's guerilla gardening - like, planting stuff in parks and what not?

Wish I had the land to put one on, let alone the funds to get land/dome. I would consider subscribing to his patreon but in the end, it won't help me much if I don't have a farm to farm lol.

Super jealous too :(

Maybe there's a geodesic dome time-share thing we can sign up for lol.

Oh I'm sorry, here, let me say it again more clearly: you didn't even bother to look at the thumbnail to figure things out for yourself before complaining about how I titled the post.

Not watching it then.

Gee, I'm so surprised; come to complain, but not participate. Your loss, not mine lol. Blocked for low deductive-skill and wasting my time.

Someone talking about survival and farming - either you watch it or you do not. The name is in the thumbnail of the video, I hope you actually looked at it before posting about how I titled the post...

Because otherwise the title is just "2020 & 50K Subs Livestream", no one would know what it was.

I never understood people who didn’t put family first. They’re mostly liberals who want to slouch off responsibility onto the government.

I found this guy on reddit a while ago - he used to be an engineer or something until he built a giant robot - but before finishing it completely, he decided to buy a small island and live a survival lifestyle. Really great channel.

His video on "whisper dishes" was cool!

Not a fan of the style, would be better suited for a podcast imo.

But it is an important topic, I agree.

I really like this guys survival channel - he's one of the few youtubers I honestly feel has "no agenda" when it comes to his content.

This is the video that spurred me to make this sub. It's not actually my area of expertise and so I'm hoping you guys use this space, because I don't really have much to share on this subject.

In this case however, I think it's the MOST important question and the most overlooked, when dealing with survival situations and thus I've (tried) stickied it as a starting point.

Welcome all, I hope you all both find and share some useful things in this sub! (I'm surprised it wasn't already made...)
