One significant moment of clarity for me on this whole topic was when a realized the truly amazing depth and breadth of trans activist goals. They want to change the definitions and concepts of sex and gender and everything related to it for everyone on the entire planet. And they want you punished if you don't go along with it. Think about that for a minute.

When I was involved in gay activism, we just wanted to live our lives without being harassed. We could have our gay world over here, and you can have your straight world over there. (Yes, there was the wedding cake case, but even gay people were divided on whether or not that kind of thing was a good idea.)

In contrast, gender ideologues intend to change and police the way everyone is allowed to talk about or conceptualize EVERYTHING related to sexual anatomy or sexual identity. It goes far beyond anything the LGB ever asked for. Women cannot talk about their own bodies and female reproductive health in general without being attacked.

If someone talks about husbands and wives, it doesn't occur to me to get upset because I understand that we live in a world made largely by and for heterosexual people. I don't scream, "WHAT ABOUT HUSBANDS AND HUSBANDS???" Not everything has to be about me all the time.

For gender ideologues, it does. If you are not thinking about and "centering" them all the time, they will threaten you or report you.

Indeed, on the cake thing, I was supportive of the baker. He doesn't want to bake your cake: so what, go to another baker. And, honestly, I'd rather my gay wedding cake be baked by somebody who's supportive of my marriage, not somebody who's doing it because they're being forced.

I felt the same. Like i'd rather give my money to someone who is happy to make my cake.

Also if someone feels uncomfortable who am i to force them not be able to have boundaries. I wouldn't want someone thinking they were going to eternal damnation in hell because they were forced to bake my cake. It's mental but they believe it and i'm sure that is scary and stressful.

Plus this is what it looked like at Masterpiece Cakeshop preparing said cake.
