Years ago, I was renting a room from a woman who worked at the same restaurant where I worked. It was her house. We got along really well, and it was a good situation. I'm a gay male, so there were no complications. We would go hiking with her dogs, talk about books, etc... But then one day, she came to me very apologetically and said she was going to have to ask me to move out because her daughter needed to move back in. There was enough room for all of us, but her daughter had been raped a couple of years before, so her daughter didn't feel comfortable with a male-bodied person in the house -- even a gay male.

So, did I argue and make a scene about it? No. I told her I understood and moved out because I understood that that was the decent thing to do.

Vancouver Rape Relief offers a sanctuary for rape victims where they don't have to deal with male-bodied people in the same space. I get why that's their policy.

Now, someone could set up a rape shelter specifically for transgender people. But that's not the way Team Trans works. Anything for women that's not for trans women has to be shut down because, according to TRAs, women are not allowed to have sex-segregated spaces for any reason, even reasons that should make sense to anyone who thought about it.

Apparently, some people tried to set up a trans-only shelter in the UK and the trans community there rejected the idea outright because it wasn't validating enough.

Around 2015 I secured a £500,000 donation from an 80’s pop mogul if the trans community raised the same amount for what would have become the UK’s first trans exclusive refuge. This would have come with services including medical advice, housing advice, trauma advice including domestic violence, rape etc. This was also going to offer temporary housing for 12 trans individuals for up to 6 months. A building was found in the centre of Birmingham.

In fairness some radical feminist women and other left leaning women were happy to help with securing grants and doing all the paperwork. A female lawyer offered her services for free. All this would have saved a lot of time and headaches.

On putting forward this plan to to the trans community they declined this outright. It was nothing to do with the service. They wanted to use women’s services as a means of passing!

They get really mad when you tell them to make it for themselves. They aren't happy unless they can take it away from women.
