That 'sanpako' eyes, high brows, talking with teeth, 'triggered' face that these crazies make when they're slighted with plain logic is so bizarre. And looks identical on such different faces... It's a trip.

When you find a definition offensive the problem isn't the definition.
[–]C3P0 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun - 3 years ago (4 children)
The first thing said in the argument was that neither party found the definition offensive. At least listen to the argument before commenting. Come on, man/woman/thing/person/xerson!
Otherwise you'll devolve into one of those stupid arguments where one side keeps restating the same point because its all they've got.

I watched the whole thing. The dude didn't have an argument at all and couldn't explain why the billboard was offensive.
[–]C3P0 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun - 3 years ago (1 child)
Consider what he believed his argument was. Perhaps his argument didn't have any legs to stand on, but at least acknowledge the opposing view. It's a useful skill to have.
[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun - 3 years ago (0 children)
What he believes his argument is is that the definition is offensive because it includes the word female, but he's not saying it because he understands it's a ridiculous argument.

He explained that it reminds people within that particular area that work there, trans people, about how much they're scrutinized. So it's an argument about feelings vs reality. This is an argument that shouldn't have to be made. We can be kind and civil to one another without catering to each other's whims. It's not anyone's responsibility to provide affirmations or grant validation to another human being. If someone is incapable of doing that for themselves, it shouldn't fall on others to "fix it" for them.

A woman from England put up a billboard where she defined what a woman is.
A male activist took issue with the woman's definition.
The woman was banned.
The video interview is the male activist vs. the woman who defined "woman" for herself.
The question for all of you is:
Who do you think is telling the truth?

the nurse who pulled the baby out of the birth canal and said "its a .... "

More to the point, why are people even letting these freaks live? What has happened to peoples ability to think?

It's true that's the official policy of many nations, which are simply rules and laws created by a subset of humans. In reality, there is no 'right' to anything for any species on this planet. We live, we create societies, we begin to believe Human beings have a right to live, no matter how irrational their beliefs or how heinous their crimes, and our toleration for deviation begins to crumble the foundations of our societies.
As we are witnessing right now. It's arguably this toleration for the rotten apples that inevitably leads to our downfall. This iteration promises to surpass all previous collapses, due to our technology, and the 'coincidence' of the extinction-causing polar flip, with associated phenomena.
Cheers! :)

Grand idea. I can think of no possible example, historical or otherwise, as to when that went horribly wrong. You sir should be made president of all mankind.
I deduce from this example of rhetoric that you're a reddit user, which is unfortunate. What are you actually trying to say?
Btw, we have more humans on this planet than ever before in history with no sign of slowing down and you're worried about extinction?
If you've read about variations in mammal populations, that sentence alone should trigger a pattern recognition response. But it looks like you stopped before reading the second paragraph, the third sentence in particular.
*BTW, what kind or type of books do you hoard?

Why do you think all these "deviants" are popping up?
There are several causes that tend to be unpopular to discuss, but that doesn't excuse the deviation. It more highlights a quality control issue.
The susceptibility to defect is a separate problem from the process exposing the defect, or worse, needlessly creating a defect. I'm not saying the causes corrupting our process shouldn't also be addressed.
I've read about behavioral sink and the rat utopia experiment.
Fun stuff, eh? Then you're familiar with that basis for extinction. To extend those experiments into somewhat of a metaphor, what if they had been conducted in northern Canada in the winter, and a storm knocked out the power for a few years. Something along that line is approaching our solar system, and one of the initial symptoms is the accelerating polar drift.
Remember how the Carrington Event caused a 180 reversal in the drift? If that mild CME happened today, our society would be without electricity (and electronics) for at least a year or more. No food deliveries. No trucks to deliver the food. No factories to build new trucks. It would be bad news for our nuclear power plants scattered across our countries. How well do you think our society will do in a "everything you eat is produced by you without electricity" situation.
If you have 10 minutes, this video will give you some hints. Starts slow, but be patient.

It also depends on how you define "deviation." As a woman married to another woman, I'm a deviant in at least one major sense of the word.
Agreed. However, being as far to the right of Hitler as I pride myself on, being an absolutist is the sure path to error and failure in the human realm. I agree with much of what you say, and were I still in that position, would be inclined to accept you-in-particular as neighbors. Despite my disagreement with the choices you've made, stuff happens in our lives and we adapt. You can't always just kill yourself when your options seem limited.

Just ran across that other channel that covers the same material. I'm going to cheat by copying part of the comment reply I just sent to socks.
Just checked in my book. Here's a quote from the last page of their 115 page paperback (The next end of the world), that followed the textbook. Earth's magnetic field will decrease to the point where modern society breaks down between 2030 and 2050. I think he's moved that date up a little, based on the most recent accelerating spin data. See the past few daily updates. It's really interesting to watch this evolving, but I kind of hope he's totally full of shit. I've almost died, and am now living in a sort of 'bonus round', but having our planet being seared of most life is inexplicably more frightening than my individual death. Weird, huh?

Pffft, that kid turned out to be a wuss. But I went to a different school.
why are people even letting these freaks live? What has happened to peoples ability to think?
That's a really strong argument there.
Who would need to hear 'an argument' at this point?

As disgusting as it may seem at present, how pleasant is it that the carefully preserved dictionaries of our forefathers are again out of the clutches of the hoi polloi, and virtuousness is not a pretense they can convincingly sustain. The corruptions of identity here are momentous, but the lack that shall haunt us in the future is the bitter result of the attempts at total genocide we are trying to rebuff. The diversity of our people has been unmatched in human history, and the situation in some locales is dire and worthy of scrambling to save whatever we can.
Don't get tempted by the superficial labels and Finklethink, we fight for life and truth.
