Wow that is sad. Nothing is more precious to me than sustainable free time. Even money is just a route to free time. People who are working themselves to death for material purchases are missing out.

It's a bit of trivial information; I think showing most people don't use their time very efficiently. On that note though, I think if people could learn to diversify their time a little more, figure out a way to go without xyz consumer item, and learn something other than money-centric, the world could be a better place.

The survey of 2,000 adults, commissioned by tax prep service H&R Block, also found that the little bit of free time leaves the average person with 14 undone items on their to-do lists — though one in five respondents says there’s at least 20 things to get done on their lists.

It's possible that these results are legit.

However, I'm not sure about my level of confidence in a H&R Block survey.

Filling taxes would likely induce some degree of external bias.

The American population is definitely overworked.

I knew guys down around the Gulf Coast of Texas, working in the oil, and chemical plants that didn't feel they were working until at least 70 hours a week.

It was the weirdest culture shock I've ever experienced, 70 hours was 'cush', while the preferred work schedule would be something like 6/12's, and 1/8, or near there.

These same guys were always bragging about how much money they had, that was when they could carry on an intelligible conversation due to lack of sleep. The sad thing was, the money wasn't that great, they looked at their overtime rate, as their regular rate; while failing to note the increased taxes due to the rate......

Just an interesting, but strange reality to many I guess.

Note to self: Delerium is when the real work starts!

Sounds like ranger school.

I don't believe this.

Netflix subscribers stream for 93 minutes a day, 10h51m a week

This government survey found men have 5h30m of leisure a day, women 5h.

Plus it just doesn't sound right intuitively.

The figure does seem over the top. It's probably a survey from April 10th-15th; immediately before their return needs to be filed...

Survey: Why are you filing your taxes at the last minute?
Response: Each day I only get 1 hour of sleep, and 29 minutes of leisure!

On the others hand, a govt survey suggesting that most people have plenty of free time is exactly what is expect from a well oiled propaganda machine.

It suggests thanks if you have no time then it's your fault, cause everyone else is relaxing on their off time.

I'm fairly confident that Netflix running unwatched in the background is a probable norm.

Thanks for the input. I was a little indifferent to it, but have really enjoyed the input from others. The greatest takeaway I get from this, is the real idea of time. It really is precious.
