It's odd how many make life, a race for achievement by usually adhering to the media approved, or perceived 'winning category'. Parents want to see their children's success, in all regards, but some how it often devolves into a materialistic, and popularity based race. The end goal, to have as much crap as you can, or be the envy somehow of all; yet never a mention of self/internal reflection, enlightenment, or growth.
What of 'enjoy your life, experience your life, don't be the someone looking back at the end wishing they had (insert blank here), but also, don't be the someone looking back with guilt, over what they had(insert blank here). I guess this road to self determination is too difficult for many parents, or even people as itself has rules to success, or ruination. Real life, truly living can be a scary thing, then learning to navigate it even more perils present.
I guess it's just easier for most to go along, 'fake it till you make it...if ever', than to risk either yourself, or your progeny in screwing it all up, huh? It just seems though, that by following scripted routes to 'success', or doing what we're told we must do(by authority/media), we may just be doing the greatest harm.
The greatest failure anyone in life can have, is to follow any other light, than your natural internal light; it's the difference between living a lie, and living a life.
It is obvious to see though, the perils of not knowing where to begin; sad that so many succumb to the status quo; almost like a living death. My bet is, for many of these children never experiencing what it's like to know the concept to 'persevere', there are gonna be some issues... to put it mildly.

What the parents here are missing is that they're providing their children with temporary success instead of providing their children with the tools they need to be able to draw from to make them successful throughout their lives.
