Are you sure it's prions? I hope it's not prions.

no, i just guessed because jakob-creutzfeld was prions. free range animals shouldnt have that problem if i think about it unless they eat meat. which is not unheard of in deer, so... idk!

It actually is a prion disease, you were 100% correct, good guess: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronic_wasting_disease
transmissible spongiform encephalopathy - a group of progressive, invariably fatal, conditions that are associated with prions and affect the brain

First, I have to wonder what modern environmental pollution is causing this, or was it an experiment gone awry?
I personally think that CWD, or Mad cow disease, is already present in the human population; actually in large numbers. There are a ton of diseases that have almost the same symptoms as each other, and similar to CWD.
A prime example would be with muscular dystrophy. Now considered to be the most 'common form' of the disease, FSHD, was unheard of just 15 years ago.
Now, it's the most common form, due to lumping all sorts of conditions, and diseases together; so going from unheard of, to the most common, by way of the box.
The sad thing is, these different 'boxes' are getting filled up with disease similar to CWD.
Just interesting I guess.

Oh dang I didn't realize humans could get Chronic Wasting Disease by eating contaminated deer meat

Sarcasm?
Well, anyway, according to the article we don't actually know whether humans can get it yet. The answer is probably, though; that's NOT A CHALLENGE!
