I'm not sure why the titles of the articles said "banned", unless the society felt that the union was ordering them to ban him. What I've heard from interviews has been firmly on the "not-banned" side.

It probably said banned, as the university used that wording, as well as the man who was 'banned'; he also used it.

I don't think there's much of an issue with the word banned, in this context. The bat-s***-crazy liberals, know to publicly demonize events like this.

While what they did actually garnered more attention, and did result in the man 'being allowed on stage', but how many people did it detour from the actual event?

Due to the student unions actions, how many didn't attend? How many pertinent questions, or answers were never spoken?

It's not a freak occurrence what was done in the situation outlined in the article. It's somewhat of a common ploy by the far gone liberal left.

You're asking questions. You should know that I'm not omniscient. Do the research, call the people, gather the data. That's how to find the answers.

I think we've all seen 'absolute fact' in journalism, where even the experts agree that the topic turns out to be contrived. I'm trying to comprehend where you're coming from; as you seem to dismiss topics based off of wording used, rather than what potential merit is there.

My questions were directed towards you; as in our current state in time, the regular journalists, the ones paid to lie, and now that are learning to code(LOL), well, we're seeing their lies unfold everywhere. Also, I think it is somewhat an effect of the same, but it seems like it's becoming common for people to raise a stink over things that would've never been issues; without modern society 'creating' a reason to make them such.

Oh, and thanks for letting me know your not omniscient.

Ah, here's the confusion. I'm not dismissing the topics; I'm dismissing the articles. They're being misleading. Sure, he might've been banned, but he attended and nobody stopped him and honestly it wasn't as big of a thing as it was reported to be. I don't know why it made international news.

This version of the article, however, was copied and pasted almost verbatim across the web. I have no idea why, and it's frustrating that one side of a four-sided story (at least!) is the only one to be reported, because an isolated incident is being seen as part of a pattern of free-speech suppression when none exists. (Seriously? Western Europe UK Student? Is the UK suddenly in Eastern Europe? Next you'll be saying New Zealand isn't on the map at all!)

it seems like it's becoming common for people to raise a stink over things that would've never been issues;

Yeah. I really don't know why we're arguing over this.

Edit: Deleted word "none" for accuracy. This was unclear hyperbole, and does not sufficiently reflect reality.

I absolutely realize what you're doing, and others do to.

? Please explain. It's possible that I'm completely delusional and so am making claims that don't follow on from each other; please let me (and those who aren't in the "others" you state) in on this secret.

Why do people mirror, and are uber vigilant at any mention of the leftist censoring of society? You obviously say it doesn't exist, yet you, yourself are on a site that I believe is a creation of what you'd call a non existent issue is it not? Is Saidit not a creation due to Reddit censoring?

What of the multitude of video sites that are springing up due to Youtube's censoring policies? What of alternative payment platforms that are half ass trying to start up to combat the defunding of people's hardwork, and sites??

What of browsers, and host companies pulling the plugs of websites due to what you say doesn't exist?

lol

Ah. I should've clarified: "a pattern of free-speech censoring in public forums" is what I intended to say. And actually, I'm not going to back up that sentence with my usual gusto, because it's pretty shaky and I kind of regret making such a blanket statement that's probably false.

wizzwizz, Now, I'm paraphrasing, but you basically just made a post saying there's no censoring, and that people are silly thinking there is.

I quoted the portion of that post, as I was a little worried that you may go edit, or amend it; thus leaving my reply 'out of place', or somewhat awkward.

My question now though, is can you explain your political ideology? Are you liberal leaning, conservative leaning, perhaps libertarian, or what exactly? I ask, and it does matter as here we are at post what, 17, or 18, and I've proved there's censorship, while you've stated there is none. why?
