By which time the new one's cropped up. Let's start directing people towards alternatives like Mastodon. That way, when they get bored of one they can move onto the other without it affecting who they can contact, and so Facebook don't have so much of an influence.

I'm not familiar with Mastodon, but if it's legit then I'm all for it.

Why don't you create a post describing Mastodon, etc? Help the process along.

Keep in mind that Oculus is owned by Facebook, so might also have this problem.
