People are only afraid of populism because it is seen as leading to fake leaders. As if the only politicians who would make promises to actually help the public, would also be the most corrupt.

Although I can't really blame people, after seeing what happened to communism, which is supposed to also be "for the people" but almost always ends up in an authoritarian regime with way too much power because everyone trusts them too much, and they abuse it. I see communism and populism both sharing this fatal flaw...

But honestly to be against populism is to be against democracy. Populism just means "what is popular" and that is the whole point of democracy.

I really think an "Open Republic" focused on the exercising of Inalienable Natural Rights is the best we can ever have. The idea of government can be summed up in the roots of the word; 'govern'-control, and 'ment'-mind(Latin). Anytime people rely on any form of government that consolidates control, ends with totalitarism holding the reigns.

A little bit hard to read, but I think it's worth the read. The guy basically makes the case that over the last few decades with the push to globalism, the push back has been strong enough to cause diversion, or postponement. So, while we were being hounded with 'the terrorist made your coffee cold crap', to build towards a 1 world govt., they switched up their plans, and now have us infighting; I guess with the ultimate goal of commoners realizing that we need to be governed by 'them'.

I donno, could be, I do think the folks ruling, are generational, and I do believe that for any given pogram, they've got multiple ways into, and out of; meaning, they've got the odds covered sufficiently per their actuaries.
