This pushing towards transgender explanations rather than other explanations has been exactly what I have been worried about!
“If the patient has nagging questions, therapists cannot even entertain those questions without putting license and job at risk, since the interpretation of what constitutes ‘conversion therapy’ is so loose. It’s all up to trans activists and their legislative machinery. Psychotherapists are increasingly aware that they are now legally required to play along with each and every self-diagnosed case of gender dysphoria presented to them, or face legal consequences.”
I wonder how a patient can avoid this.
I have been wondering whether I am transgender or am just uncomfortable with gender roles and being circumcised, but a big dilemma of mine is that /r/transgender would probably push me into being more transgender, while somewhere like /r/gendercritical would probably push the opposite, when all I would really like is some honest feedback, not yet another agenda. Reddit is pushed into echo-chambers far too easily…

Well, sadly, tribalism and echo-chambers are the name of the game now. Nuance and discussion are on life support. Ironically, if people realised that the individual is the ultimate minority, a lot of these stupid arguments would be moot.
I suppose all you can do is carefully weigh the pros and cons and hope you made the right call. On top of that, meeting with an open and trusted counselor or therapist would help, but that's difficult to find and possibly expensive. Do you have any close colleagues/friends/family you can reasonably confide in? I wish you good luck on your journey towards happiness.
