As I know, the latest best application is Utopia p2p that can beat all the other similar messengers as it is the most encrypted one. If someone is interested here's their website https://u.is/ They don't have a mobile appliication yet, but it will be released at the beginning of 2021

I would never trust a closed source messaging app with proprietary encryption that hasn't been audited by a trusted third party.

Wait, I used this app too. I didn't think that ordinary users already knew about it, it seemed to me that this application is used only by geeks cracked on their safety, like me. =) I'm sure that with the release of the mobile version even more people will learn about it.

YES, this is not a bad app. To be honest, at first I didn't really trust this application. I was especially confused by the closed source. However, I have studied enough user reviews and at the moment I think this application is a good alternative to most popular, but unreliable applications.
