Thanks for the ping to this post, usehername. The difference is that Edward is a crazy asstroll with no good ideas.

That announcement sounds like it came out of nowhere as some folks seem surprised.

It's foolish to throw in the towel without considering handing it off to those offering to continue and improve it. I'd wager his own community could have stepped up to offer alternatives, solutions, and assistance in moderating. Again, it sounds like another case of poor management egos that won't open up the process to include the communities they're cultivating.

Not sure why this was the only mention and description...

saidit was always off

No question there, in large part due to /u/magnora7's self-centered management.

We need FOTPACHIES Management in all things - Fair, Open, Transparent, Accountable, Consistent, Honest, Inclusive, Ethical, Social Management. This applies to governing, web administration, resistance organizing, and communities new and old.

It seems obvious that the internet needs filters as well as free speech. The only way I know of is to have forums where anything legal goes, where good users may be invited (maybe request) up to better-behaved levels. This hierarchy is critical, just as it's critical to keep the hierarchy as minimal as possible. (IMO, also critical, is that each site should have a foundational charter to express their fundamental existential purpose and goals, like a mission statement, constitution, or manifesto.) This filtration can be implemented via separate federated instances or within one site capable of filtering out the noise.

For what it's worth, just like 20 years ago, we're reorganizing our local communities in topical email groups as a way to properly filter our content: Announcements, Communications, Fun, Global, Local, Planning, Social - are the first topics to start us off with more to come, and more details to follow in /s/WEFringe.

/u/TimothyMcFuck, So long, and thanks for all the fish.

/u/HongKongPhooey, please code in filters and federating in your new forum.

"Inclusive" and "Ethical" are some faggy leftist weasel words without specific definitions and "social management" isn't an adjective lol

Those were legit words before the "faggy Left" perverted them, and if you'd bother to recognize that I'm not woke, then you might understand what I meant instead of getting triggered like a faggy Right snowflake.

magnora7 doesn't include us, the SaidIt community, thus this site's management is not inclusive and it is therefore, by default, a dictatorship. That's his owner's right, but he's a hypocrite for saying one thing and doing another.

Ethical is the sum total of all the other features: fair, open, transparent, peaceful, accountable, consistent, and honest. If you don't have that then you have a shitty or even corrupt system.

Social was describing the management - thus FOTPACHIES and not FOTPACHIESM.

Your critique sucked.
