That bot is designed to build dissent within the American populace. It is from a foreign actor; either directly or farmed out. They don't care about the message, as long as it increases political or social tension.

It's not really building dissent when it's so similar to what many braindead anti-western people post someone is fooled into arguing with it almost 50% of the time.

        But we have. Take "yellow journalism" that helped get the U.S. into war with Spain over Cuba. I agree that MSM is in bed with the government now, and instead of propaganda, they are actively colluding for censorship against any inconvenient truth.

          I think the older we get and the more we experience, the more the dark side of humanity can wound us. I have trouble with this sometimes. As I realize just how much power I have over my own life, I can get frustrated at that which I have none. Each of us lives in a separate universe, so to speak. I don't think I can ever fully understand the mind of another. I enjoy most of your comments as I did your audio posts. That's what I like most about this site: the exchange of ideas and perspectives. I would miss your views and experiences if you were to leave for any reason.

              For example, I don't hear alternative news concerning Covid-19 from most other forums. That's not to say that I believe everything I hear, but it does give me a more rounded picture to form my opinions. I also believe that this site has more potential for more perspectives to be shared.

                Which do you identify as?

                The metaphor is interesting, though. The sewer you mention has waste water deep enough to swim. Are the walls made of brick, or are they newer, and made of concrete, or another material? Are there ladders up to personholes? Any lighting? What's the diameter?

                I've only seen sewers in 'urban explorer' videos, and video games, and neither invokes a desire to enter one in real life. Plus you can die from sewer gasses. Not to even mention the zombies and other critters.

                Anyway, I identify as one of the weirdos in your metaphor, although I'm up on the elevated walkway at the side instead of swimming.

                I have seen first hand how this kind of propaganda pushes people further into a fervor that they would not normally have fallen into. If this bot gets a few people worked up enough to talk to, and convince, their friends in real life, then it works even better.

                  I don't think people are necessarily sheep, but people are social creatures and that gives con artists and power grabbers more room to maneuver.
