Like $12/hr, times 10 people, for 24 hours a day, for a month or two? Looks like that'd be about $100-200k.

I'm sure you could get a much better deal if you outsource it to China. One guy can run a whole bank of shill accounts on separate devices.

Yeah true. But one person can only make so many comments and posts per hour. If you want it to look like a legit 200-500 people are active within the span of an hour, you need at least a dozen real people.

A number of us still have reddit accounts even if we don't use them much. You could ask people here to advertise. If that's what you want.

You bring the reddit people here though and you bring the reddit people problems. Already I've seen maybe 3 far left comments and that's not itself a worrisome number, but.... Where did they come from? u/JasonCarswell and I plan to hogtie one of them, drive them across the border, and make them drink Canadian tequila until they talk. Advanced interrogation techniques. Brutal stuff, but you have fight the Bad Guys.

Fuck that. I'll drink the booze and make them watch as I pretend I'm a woman and dance for them like a Trans Santa. I have no car, can't afford booze, lost my passport in a NYC cab in 2004, and can't even afford a computer that works properly. I could use a little vacation.

That sounds like a dreary situation. One of our vehicles hasn't been working so I'm often stuck without one. It's nice being able to go somewhere even if you don't.

and can't even afford a computer that works properly

Have you checked out the refurbished computers on Amazon? They had some amazing deals last time I looked. Got one for my grandfather for $120 and I don't remember the specs but I remember being impressed what was offered for the price.

Or ask around and see if anyone is giving them away. Every time someone in my family does a build there's usually the old working, or mostly working, or at least parts of a computer left unneeded. We don't do them often anymore but people really into computers or gaming usually upgrade often.

Ya, soon I'll get a better refurbished one for Mint. I need to save up though. I only buy harddrives new.

can't afford booze

I'll buy you a drink. You got Zelle up there? Or we can figure something out. PM me the details. I'll send $20.

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

TIL what Zelle is.

Save your money until I earn it. By Groundhog Day or sooner I'll be quitting SaidIt-main to do a big project or few. First I'll do a survey to see which of my six or seven options folks think I should attack first, perhaps a few simultaneously, and then I'll be primarily focused on them and posting developments regularly on SaidIt like a blog. I'll have to set up some funding options too, especially for the projects that have practical needs.

If I had $20 more, I'd just buy some nicer food, instead of the cheap shit.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Lemme know if you change your mind. Nicer food works too. A guy helped me out with $20 a while back and I normally don't have money to spare but we got a stimulus. Figure one day if you ever have extra you can help someone else out.

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I REALLY appreciate the sentiment and your insistence. It means a lot. I once made plenty. But now even $20 makes a big difference. My rent, hydro, internet are inclusive leaving less than $500 a month for food and stuff. Every month I buy a hard drive or some treat like that.

I expect shit to pop off on the 20th. Perhaps a false flag, perhaps an assassination. Who knows. Webb has some ideas.

After whatever happens I'll likely lurk around for a week to learn details about it and then pull back and focus. Hopefully less than a week. Groundhog Day the latest. In addition to determining my course I'll be asking SaidIt about funding support preferences then will do all that registration stuff.

I hope you can hang on to it until then. And I hope my projects won't disappoint.
