Strange meteorological phenomenon looks like matrix glitch in Texas A bizarre sight in the skies over Austin, Texas, in late November: a strange tear seemed to cut across the sky like a glitch in the matrix, leaving onlookers confused but in awe of the wondrous event. The unexplained meteorological phenomenon rolled across the sky before disappearing as if nothing had happened.

If this footage is real (and not just CGI or crack in the photo lens filter) then I guess we all can agree safely that contemporary physics has no explanation for it. The effect seems to have origin in Earth surface instead of free space. The only physical mechanism which could be implicated for it is the strong gradient of electrostatic field above Earth surface due to piezo effect from compression of large stone blocks within bedrock, but it would be difficult to explain with it anyway. Maybe surface of Earth ejects stream of charged or ionizing particles, which would charge the particles of clouds and force their droplets to separate. See also:
