Phone screens are assaulting our Stone Age brains with more information than we can handle 'It explains why our ability to focus has gone to hell'

Books have started this trend first. I'd guess that our brain can process this volume of information well, it just stores it into a periphery areas of memory. When we run with forest, then we should also process huge amount of information (as the predators can be hidden behind every leaf), but this information is rather temporary. See also:

We make an average of 35,000 decisions a day. This is not normal.

Are Digital Media Boring? Global boredom is on the rise, and digital media could be the culprit.

  • Digital media distract. Digital media and devices are known to divert attention.
  • Digital media increase expectations for excitement. The fast-paced nature of digital entertainment taps into a natural human tendency for seeking out sensation.
  • Digital media present meaningless information. The patchwork of posts on social networking sites often presents an incoherent picture.
  • Digital media offer too many options. Some people may praise digital entertainment for its wealth of options.
