I loved the character of Marine Private First Class Jenette Vasquez. I loved how strong she was, fought just as bravely as Riley (but died fighting) and as woman and Marine, she didn’t take shit from the guys but it was clear that they were a tight team. I think the guy that used to tease her a lot was Drake (may be wrong) and one time he teasingly said to Vasquez, “Vasquez, are you a man?” And she said right back, “No, are you?”.

Feminism isn't necessarily about leading by example. It's about analysis of patriarchy, gender & a woman's place in it. The ideal is called gender egalitarianism, which is something the feminist movement strives for. The most feminist movie I've ever seen (in the analysis sense, that critically examines the female experience) is Raise the Red Lantern.

Apart from Ripley, how many other female characters are even in Aliens?

The Alien is female since it lays eggs. Was it in the first Alien that Ripley says, " Get away from her BItCH." When Aliens came out some people called it Battle of the Big Mamas.
