I've thought of an idea where galaxies are trading but it takes hundreds or thousands of years for the resources to be shipped.
Once you get a steady stream going it wouldn't be so bad.
Governments would be arranging deals for goods that they wouldn't even be alive to recieve.

That would be a novel novel. What resource could possibly be cheaper to ship for 56 years rather than just making on the destination planet?
