Not to shit on your schadenfreude, but Hollywood hasn't really been making anything worth seeing at the theaters. Streaming quality movies are fine for streaming. Like the made-for-TV movies of old, but if you give people something they want to go see they'll go happily. Look at Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Well actually we stopped going to the movies 15 years ago. The prices have just gone up some.

I think the last time we went it was probably under $40, two adults, shared a large drink a popcorn. But look at the selection: https://www.cinemark.com/movies. Ghostbusters and Spider man were good, but the old 95 Scream movie is in there, and a bunch of stuff I never heard of. Tickets went down to $6.25.

Hollywood does not produce anything worth watching

I'm a lazy bum, and even if the prices were the same, I'd still rather watch it from my couch where I can smoke weed and pause to use the restroom. Fcuk the movie theater
