It's no mystery that I'm talking about the s/Incels sub, but there have been subs in the past that have taken over the site's "All" page for an entire day or two with the migration of a reddit community.
A lot of the time, these initial posts can be pretty hate-filled/ crass and give a bad impression of the site if they fill the majority of the first page a new user sees.
Other times, when a big event happens and many posts are made on the same sub (Typically subs that agree with each other on most topics), it can make the site seem like an echo chamber and turn away people who are looking for a free-speech discussion board, people we very much want to include. The Incels board in particular has a set of rules that seem to discourage (without outright banning) posting about topics that are contrarion to Incel culture.
It's a small issue that lasts only for a couple days out of a month at most, but it has the potential of giving the site a reputation for being centered around one or two topics, and could deter people that want to discuss other topics or disagree with some subs' values.
I'm in no position to offer suggestions due to my lack of knowledge in coding, but perhaps we could see changes in the future that let any sub's posts be featured on "All" to a limit - say, the top five posts from a sub.
We're the most active community on this site mere weeks after the exodus began
