I would agree with you if the "Fun" catergory & subs didn't exist, but they do. Personally I don't see the issue with catering to different types of people. It's what makes the concept of subs interesting.

That's were we disagree, The catering is too much hassle (with porn) while there are all dedicated sites for it. Catering to debate and information is hard enough.

Actually, catering is fairly easy with subs because you get the choice whether or not to visit them. For example: Say you don't enjoy politics, it's easy enough to avoid due to the fact subs are like little communities.

Catering also means verifying stuff is even legal. If you cater food, you are also responsible when it's poisoned. This is a problem for all subjects, but I hope you can see how much more difficult it is with porn than with death?

As I said in the first post, have trust in the sub moderators. I'm sure we wouldn't have WPD or SS if we didn't trust them to do their duty correctly. It works for Reddit on even the smaller subs so it would work here too. The reporting system exists for a reason.

It should also be taken into account that Saidit is currently tiny in comparison, so content management is fairly easy at this point. And even once it starts to grow, there will be more users to actively report illegal content to the sub moderators.

On the first point we are getting into a loop: read my previous posts about the nature (In my view) of saidit.

On the Second, still mods gotta see if it's legal, more users could also be coming here because porn is allowed and the community is small so illegal stuff is easy coming through (Mostly why 9000+ 4chan clones have failed and maybe 2 are around for a time worth mentioning).

Loops happen sometimes. (See Brexit for example)

I'm not sure that would be true. In my experience with alternatives, people tend to have to work to find them. The ones who do find them tend to want to protect it from failing. But if what you said was true, why aren't movie nerds flocking over in mass numbers? There's quite a few illegal links in s/piracy/.

Law enforcement never will. You don't have to be guilty to lose everything you own in an investigation/trial.
