No, title edits are not allowed. That would mean someone could get something upvoted to the front page, then drastically change it, making people look like they agree with something they didn't vote on.

Does the codebase not support some kind of edit history? Editing titles is an ideal feature for clumsy folks like myself who make basic typing mistakes often.

No there's no support for that feature in the codebase. The best way is to add flair to the post title to do any corrections, that's usually what's done on reddit. That way nothing is removed, only more added to further explain or clarify

Seems like more effort than it's worth. Don't you have to setup flairs for each individual sub?

Yeah it's a per-sub setting. It'd be cool if they were site-wide. It's a lot less effort than building an alternate title system!

Eh! Or we could go back to basics and express our fudge ups using the bold edit line in the contents of the post. That's what Reddit restorts to when customizable flairs are not available to the public for certain subs.

I do however think a slightly improved title system would be a grand addition to the site in the distant future.
