I've perused your wish list and seen a few I was thinking of porting in the future. I'm not a bloke for politics, bit some of the general and music subs did catch my eye.

You sir have a deal, and my gratitude.

Prompt reply. We'll see where we are in 15 hours.

Just a few? Just a few from my list or a few in general? Mind sharing your list/interests?

Also, mind being a proxy? Maybe you can be my "second sub per week"? I hadn't originally planned this, or maybe I'm an evil genius of manipulation, though if I were a real evil genius I would have likely recruited someone before now. Actually a month or five ago I asked magnora7, the founder of SaidIt if I could create 6 more accounts to get 1 sub a day. He said I'd figured out a loophole and that technically I could but it's frowned upon. Because I respect SaidIt I didn't and won't. Thought there are some here with multiple aliases and about a month ago one was using them to amplify their free speech so a new policy against that was created.

Anyway, my motives remain listed above unchanged. I have need to greedily eat new subs to poop out more prettified categories.

Sorry mate, lost in translation there from the Aussie slang; numbers wise, at least a dozen of em that I saw including ShowerThoughts, WritingPrompts and NoSleep. I write as a stress release so they are very much up my alley

Sidenote; if one was to drop short stories on Saidit, is there a sub for that? If not, that'll be on the list too.

Also, mind being a proxy? Maybe you can be my "second sub per week"?

Hmmm, won't say no, however all depends on how /u/Magnora7 thinks about that. In all honesty, I'm trying to avoid powermods not create them, per se, however if it does get the site traffic up by broadening subject scopes and passed to folk who are truly for the subject itself and the community as a whole, I'm down for that.

Edit; sorry, remembered you weren't interested in the modding part so clarified at the end there.

LOL I don't even remember where I got those but I've been adding to those lists by recommendations about what's missing, so ShowerThoughts, WritingPrompts and NoSleep are not even mine, though I'll be sure to check them out.

I'm actually writing several projects, but that's another long thing for another day if you actually care. Yes there's /s/Writing and recently /s/Microfiction.

While I understand there may be nuances between the general and specific categories I'm frustrated by redundancies when there's a lot that haven't been covered. For example recent additions /s/SyrianCivilWar and /s/vzla mirror the extant /s/Syrian and /s/Venezuela but there's none for Asia, Brazil, EU, Mexico, NewZealand, Russia, SaudiArabia, UK, Vietnam, etc.

Those are regional, and as you saw I have lots more. But a lot of the broader ones nullify any sort of need for specifics, at least for the foreseeable future. Like "DeepState", "MindControl" and "NGOs" would cover all the specific examples in their more specific lists and more, just as "Crime" covered a lot.

Asking magnora7 sounds good. What's a powermod? I'm pretty sure I'm not that, unless my graffiti/banners counts. Don't feel pressured or obligated to do anything you don't want to. Or rushed. Take time to see how it goes. My history is wide open here. And in that history you'll see me constantly intending to soon to pull back to focus on my projects and animation. I really mean it but I may be getting addicted to SaidIt.

I don't know if I'm "for the subjects" so much as come across content that fits there best. Sex, Race, WorldHistory, Solutions, VideoEssays - are very broad topics with content that would belong there over other defaults like "news". And if I'm looking for information on vaccines I'd rather go to a vaccines sub than "health" in general covering all manner of issues.

All are good to keep the creative juices flowing so yes definitely have a squizz at em over on Eddit.

Subbed, thank you. Ooh if you are, what else should I keep an eye out for writers?

That'll come with Population/user growth I reckon. It could be that Squatters (mods snapping up URLs so no one else can use em) grabbed the originals before the others could? Folks coming from Eddit see subs as prime real estate I reckon. Myself included for WPD, won't lie.

Diversification is definitely a welcome addition once numbers are up on Saidit, so these niches are filled.

Magnora7 isnt a fan of Powermods either, so that's cleared that up as far as I'm concerned. Powermods are the reason folks are coming here (as well as the censorship) from Eddit; essentially it boils down to a few hundred controlling most of the content in subs with hundreds or thousands of Moderator spots that abuse their "power" from one sub to the next.

And animation eh? What kind of things you have under the belt? I'm appreciative for the offer to create the sub for me regardless and keen for it :)

Agreed wholeheartedly.

I'm not so much interested in writers or writer communities, or reading from writers.

I'm interested in writing good screenplays, comedy, and trutherism - for my projects.

Many of that overlaps with good writing - like how character and plot are a delicate dance requiring good balance to weaves good stories.

I used to listen/watch many YouTube channels on screenwriting-filmmaking if you're interested in that.

I don't think people check the subs as often as the should. Myself included. Other redundant subs are /s/Trump and /s/The_Donald /s/SandersForPresident /s/WayOfTheBern /s/Death /s/WatchPeopleDie /s/AskSaidIt /s/SaidItSurveys and /s/IdeasForSaidIt and /s/SaidIt. They all have their subtle differences that, like you said, over time will be defined. But there are big gaps.

I really don't know why you want WPD so bad but there it is. Behave with it. I'm guessing the community is the part that's notable. Ever go to Rotten.com? I visited a few times in the 90s and 2000s.

I still don't see the problem with powermods if we develop policies that keep them in check and don't get tyranny. Not to mention the M7D3 admins watching over them and cultivating good community. It seems like powermods got corrupted because the admins were corrupt.

I'm totally willing to let anyone co-mod my subs who asks. My only requirement is they not be an asstroll. I've only seen a couple mild attitudes here on SaidIt who I'd think twice about.

Vimeo has better quality but only one video https://vimeo.com/user67299269 and YouTube deleted a bunch, so this is what's left of my dozen year old YouTube account: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0EypUUzo-v9YUmGLQvcfDQ

Do you know anything about setting up bots?

On my subs wish list you may have seen my "media top choices" list. There were only 19 there. And while a have long list of heroes I would actually not want to have them each with their own sub - at least not until SaidIt it Reddit sized. And of those 19, many of them don't really need their own sub either. You could pretty much set up bots for most of them to post into only 4 categories: LibertarianVideos, ProgressiveVideos, AltMedia/Indie/Truther/TruthSeekerVideos, and VideoEssays. Most of the VideoEssay channels only publish once or twice a month, but it'd be rad to simply find them all in one place. And really when I think about it I'd not even bother with the Libs and Progs - in part because so many of them are hard to tell apart as they're simply anti-corruption or anti-authoritarian - and in part because I'd rather keep them mixed up for all the SaidIters to keep them from their left-right bubbles and expose them to new ideas.

I wasn't a Redditor but after 5 months on SaidIt if I were to do it over again, I would have made my wish list sooner to better organize, prioritize, and make better choices. /s/InfoGalactic is still my online homebase of sorts (https://infogalactic.com/info/User:JasonCarswell) and I thought more folks might embrace it but Wikipedia/InfoGalactic and Reddit/SaidIt culture are farther apart than I'd realized. /s/SaidItSurveys isn't a bad mistake but meh. /s/ZoonPolitikon should have been /s/PoliticalAnalysis or /s/TruthSeekerVideos or /s/IndieNewsReaders.
