I've seen that too, elsewhere. I avoid the clickbait and now ignore this crap as I have no time for it.

I recommend putting them on probation for spam.

The consensus seems to be to do so, so this action won't be "dictatorial admins manipulating Saidit" if it happens.

Probation isn't banning. It's a warning. After enough warnings it's time to drop the hammer.
