Why is everyone deleting their account suddenly?

Over the last couple of weeks I've been seeing a very unusual number of users delete their accounts, always suddenly and for no apparent reason. Does anyone have any idea why this may be happening?

    The public. I had my conspiracy reddit account discovered, and it became a huge point in me loosing custody of my child.

    I dunno man. I also trolled on that account. I questioned the holocaust. They brought up a bunch of stuff from that account. I talked about riding my motorcycle, in great detail. violating the law. I had a couple million comment karma on the account.

    I behaved very similar to Sneako. I enjoy posting random stupid shower thoughts. And I enjoy saying racist stuff, even though I’m not like racist racist. I still thought it was fun. I even like making fun of white peoples.

    They used it to seriously call into question my character as a person. The judge judged me extremely harshly on my Reddit account.

    That was the beginning of the end of Reddit for me.

    I became extremely hateful and cynical.

    Weegs deleted his account by accident. I agree with xyxzevn, HKP is impersonating people a lot again and I get the impression this is part of that (although I have no idea what the point of it is). Who were the others?

    They were likely shill accounts. There was also an influx of new accounts, probably the replacements. I wouldn't be surprised if the old propagandists were being replaced with AI.

    A few of us tend to switch up accounts, it's not always people leaving. Or at least they often come back if they do leave.
