If we block him, he will continue to destroy the front page whether we can see it or not. Degrading the site as a whole.

Okay, but unless there's some secret "Content that I don't want to see" sub that he should be using to avoid offending your (in the general sense, not you specifically) sensibilities, then as far as I can tell, he is posting his stuff to the appropriate subs. And unless he further has a serious level of behind-the-curtain site access, his stuff showing up on the front page is no doing of his.

Yes, it exists. And so does 4chan. I go there for shitty content, and not here. And I don't want this site to become 4chan. So if I use the block button, he will continue to bring down the quality of this site. Only it will be happening out of site, and out of mind.
