It's not a big timesuck; it's good for social mediaing with friends though!

Don't be too offended that I haven't followed you back, though; I don't want to fill up my feed with lots of stuff I don't care about. Only close friends' messages and post tags, or it would become a timesuck like Twitter.

No worries. I don't know how much time I'll spend there. I don't do much social media stuff, the last two months excepted. I intend to be distracted for a little while longer before focusing on my own projects.

Ooh! What sort of thing?

If I can eventually pull away from all my distractions...

At Xmas I came up with the idea to develop a "Truther Newbie Crash Course" (https://saidit.net/s/SaidItSurveys/comments/9hi/saiditsurvey_how_to_gently_red_pill_newbie/) that along with my TT20 talking point lists (https://infogalactic.com/info/Truther_Top_20s) will support curious fans wanting more info after watching my open source "Trutherism 101" short animated truther comedy series (like comic strips with motion) that will all fit on a framework flow for a potential mocumentary. And that T101 project will express /purge all my conspirophilia stuff while supporting one of my screenplays, the important one, that will have a deeper context without the didactic preachy truther stuff, and I'll make that story into a storyboard / graphic novel with hopes that it may be picked up and made into a feature film (doubtful but I must try). It's a near future HARD-sci-fi dystopian cautionary tale. I can't share the name yet, but a friend came up with a very funny but not very misleading temporary working title, "Foiled Again"

I started this sub / list recently too. (https://saidit.net/s/AnimatedShorts/) I have way more to add. They are diverse so if you don't like one, just move on because there's all styles. Most can be considered "Truther" themed in some small or great way, but not all.

Have you read HPMOR? It's a fun little Harry Potter fan-fiction, but a hard read; not textually but psychologically. It's extremely difficult to get yourself to think in a way that allows you to anticipate the plot. As you go through the book for the first time, try to do so; it's good practice to pick up on the little things.

On an unrelated note… Don't take this the wrong way – it's better than blind conformity – but you seem to just be going against the established narrative for the sake of it. It reminds me of "Pretending to be Wise", though of course I'm not accusing you of that! But it's something to think about.

And no, I'm not trying to be meta-contrarian here. :-) All I'm saying, really, is that just because they're out to get you, doesn't mean everything they say is a lie. Practice thinking for yourself, and admitting that they might be right about some things, because lying is risky for Them. Post both established narrative and alternative narrative evidence (or even "evidence", though try not to do that too much).

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you, but just because they're out to get you doesn't mean they're always out to get you.

I know you're a Truther, but I think you'd do better as a Rationalist.

Thanks for the homework assignment. I will definitely check it out. Dead link "Site not found" but there seem to be mirrors (https://duckduckgo.com/?q=HPMOR+Harry+Potter+fan+fiction). I'll draft a review IMHO.

I love that article. If you haven't post it. Very clever but very limited into the duality of good and evil. No nuance for juxtaposing paradoxes or layers of reality. For example, we live in a wonderful time of modern conveniences that would have saved hours upon hours of labour for anyone living in the previous century, and the goal of all this technology was to decrease work. Yet the system we live under has all the benefits and profits going to the elites and we're still in the rat race struggling to survive. The hours of leisure earned are replaced with more work than ever. We have no time to be aware of how we're exploited, much less organize, and every leisure moment we're bombarded with consumerist culture and distracting shiny meaningless content as nutritious as the crap processed food rather than learning the hard lessons on how to resist and/or find authentic fulfillment.

I certainly don't praise the status quo, nor am I a contrarian or counter-contrarian. I'm a skeptic and try to arrive at my positions through reason and investigation. And the more I find that most of our awareness is culturally engineered and that most of common history is so extremely twisted that one can't help but have skepticism as a default setting against those in power trying to control and exploit the narrative. Blaming it on "them" gets easy and no less true than saying life is suffering, even if you're trust fund baby with a hangnail.

I welcome criticism. I know many of my pros and cons and can do something about some of them, some not.

Knowing that I seem like an anti-establishment rebel without a cause means I have to push the cause more. When "they" have "full spectrum dominance" it makes it difficult to explain when everything is the cause against their all encompassing matrix of rigged controls. It's easy to punch down and far harder to punch up effectively, like trying to swat God in the nose. Maybe I'll just go unnoticed or maybe they'll suicide me like some annoying mosquito. But if I'm lucky I can give them a fatal case of malaria first.

Lying isn't risky for the elites at all! They control the corporate media. They have culturally engineered everything our culture. People would go berserk if they lost their shopping culture. Most people would flounder endlessly and few would rediscover DIY maker communities, DIY gardening, DIY local community groups, DIY Burning Man, etc etc etc. Further, since the 2012-2013 NDAA legalizing domestic propaganda "fake news" has been turned up to 11. Hypernormalization and confusion is the new normal. The "lies" are interpretive and supported by selective "facts" held by both teams. The tribal divide keeps everyone from unifying against the puppet master exploiters.

I agree. Posting the "official" narrative beside the variety of counter narratives is important. Whether they are definitive or even precisely correct is not the point. Credibly punching holes in the official narrative is. At least for the newbie, the goal is just to get them to start thinking differently. I mean we want to present the "best" counter narratives, and besides some things being unknowable, after they can think for themselves they may further delve into the nuances and find their own truths.

I'm trying to figure out how you came to your assumptions about me. I'm guessing it's the very crude and only weeks old Truther Top 20s list. There's sooooo much to fill in and it's quite overwhelming. At the bottom are lists of lists of concepts that I received in an overwhelming Truther Top 20 survey here on SaidIt. /s/TrutherTop20s/

I use the "Truther" term for many reasons. People vaguely know what it means. The term has been weaponized. Just as most folks know Black Lives Matter Too, so too, most legit truthers know it's about truth seeking . I embrace the identity rather than fear it. I also like to say if you're not a truther then you must be a liar (which I know is a bullshit duality because a lot of folks sit on the fence, watch from the sides, don't want to be involved, only care about football or talent shows or Star Wars, etc etc etc).

Rationalism has got me to this point and the ultimate truth:

All authority and governments are inherently evil, corrupted, secretive, manipulative, exploitative, abusive, violent, and murderous, with (s)elected puppet "leaders" rigging all entwined systems to serve psychotic Machiavellian elites for full spectrum dominance waged upon their own citizens bodies, lives, and minds with their media-military-bankster-industrial-corporatocracy.

Through this lens the entire man-made world makes sense to me. On the other hand, the natural world still holds an abundance of mystery and wonder.

This is clearly false. What about Denmark? That doesn't tick all the boxes. What about our friendly Saidit dictators? Yes, some authority figures and governments are hopelessly corrupt. Some are merely corrupt, with some hope for their recovery in future. I have a suspicion you're not using the tools right.

Thought experiment: What separates you from the Flat Earthers?

Thought experiment: What separates you from the authority figures you've described? Your "take the red pill" guide seems to… well, be a biased narrative set to convince the reader, instead of a set of evidence and allowing the reader to make a decision for themselves.

[–]JasonCarswell[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Whether or not Denmark is the least suckiest place on Earth is debatable but the fact that they have royalty and government is a double whammy. They make good TV shows too but that doesn't mean they're not as culpable as every other country. They have participated in the Middle East, directly and indirectly as well as countless other costly conflicts through history. Denmark is no less guilty than anywhere else, including my Canada.

They still have police and a judiciary system that will doubtlessly deal with legit criminals as well as let other slide, and of course punish some innocents. I'm pretty sure you can't question the Holocaust there without being locked up. Let's talk about their taxes or their corporations with hierarchies and servitude, limits on unions and worker directed enterprises. Authority is incestuous and infectious and infiltrates ever aspect of our lives that it can.

I hardly think magnora7 and d3rr are authority figures, other than to maintain a modicum of Natural Law and class to the joint.

Come up with a better thought experiment and I'll entertain it.

My Truther Newbie Crash Course needs a shorter introduction to be sure, but it's laid out in there. To repeat and summarize... The crash course is for those without time for nuance and excessive details. The newbie is there voluntarily with their curiosity and own reasoning skills. They choose to watch the content with no strings attached. There is no requirement to believe anything. In fact I expect them not to believe at first, but with example after example after example it will eventually become self evident. They may convince themselves - or not. This is about exposure to the shortest, best, most engaging counter-propaganda we can find. They benefit from the in depth research we do collecting the creme de la creme and will be free to explore further of their own accord. They are also free to quit at any time. They will never get their money back because we're not asking for any.

The number one goal is for them to think for themselves. The number two goal is for them to wake up to some of the many layers of deception and manipulation and exploitation. The number three goal is for them to share as they see fit, including sharing of alternative solutions.

You could argue that this is like establishing an anti-establishment cult. I would argue that totalitarianism is the dogmatic cult that has everyone brainwashed and recognizing the many layers of deception and manipulation and exploitation is the first step towards freedom. Like in the Matrix movie. It won't be easy and it may not be pleasant, but for many not knowing all the answers within the obvious framework is worth it.

counter-propaganda

I think you should use this phrase at some point in the actual thing; reading it does seem like reading traditional propaganda on news sites. (Except the subject content is completely different.)

The number one goal is for them to think for themselves. The number two goal is for them to wake up to some of the many layers of deception […].

You seem to be teaching #2 a lot more than #1. Be aware that you might not be right either, with the stuff you're teaching. (I'm sounding like a broken record here; you're definitely already aware of this and have made that clear. Moving on.)

I agree that having career politicians isn't great, and think that in fact it can be worse than a purely benevolent dictatorship (but is better than even a mostly benevolent dictatorship). And yeah, to be honest, what you're doing is good. Even if people'll call you a nut, and even if all of your theories are wrong, you're sowing healthy seeds of doubt in the minds of those you're teaching and that's good. So long as it isn't taken to the opposing extreme.

(Food for thought: 9/11 wasn't staged, but was exploited.)

CP = good idea. (CP = Counter-propaganda, not cheese pizza which is code for child porn. I don't think I'll ever use it as a short form again - but it is funny, so just this once.)

In my documocumentary outline I have a whole section on how susceptible we all are to mind control and manipulation. Whether it's as simple as optical illusions, repetition, advertising, engineered campaigns, or illusionists magic shows used for good entertainment - what if they used those skills for evil exploitation - as they do.

I would include more on these aspects of our human weaknesses and need for independent thinking if I could find good material on it with the right approach. It's most certainly a necessary aspect and thanks for pointing out that void in the curriculum.

Number 2 is tied into number 1 and without multiple examples of 2 they won't see the pattern of the Machiavellian elite control mesh of dominance. My self included, would see the instance and even a layer or few but not the whole picture - but only after time and exposure does the simple grand scheme actually become clear.

Maybe I need to restate it more clearly. I am quite certain I am not 100% correct. Because I don't have access to their evil secret agencies, secret societies, or even secret government or corporate goings on - how could anyone ever expect to be? That's by design. I'm guessing more like 85%-95% is true but even if only 10% were true we'd have a major crises of staggering proportions that are being ignored by mainstream corporate media and the government. But it's infinitely worse than that.

Career politicians are only the tip of the iceberg. The come and go. The Deep State is all those in government who don't come and go, who are embedded with life long careers - who are NOT elected (even if voting is a joke).

I'm glad you appreciate healthy skepticism, even if it's from an "unhealthy" ("nut") source.

What's wrong with the opposing extreme in your example? She walked away because she couldn't open her mind, but I don't get your point, nor believe in God.

Moon Landing

Long ago I used to wonder if 9/11 was just exploited, or even allowed to happen. It's ridiculously clear that it was engineered from top to bottom, including the post-event Anthrax Attack coverup and silencing of the media and all voices in the government. The only thing that fights Anthrax is Cipro antipbiotic and everyone in the White House was on Cipro, days before 9/11 even happened. Cipro is a hell of an ordeal for anyone's body to endure so it's not something to enter into lightly much less apply to all the "leaders". On Sept 10 Rumsfeldt announced that $2.3 TRIllion were missing, which no one followed up on. There are COUNTLESS other facts that prove it was all an inside job orchestrated by various elites among several governments - the USA, Israel, the UK, and Saudi Arabia. It was actually planed for years earlier but there were too many things that still needed to fall into place thus postponing it.

There's way too much documentation to leave any doubt on this matter. Just watch those documentaries, a few outstanding ones among thousands upon thousands of them.
