Carswell and a few others have a long history of wanting to ban free speech on Saidit.

You got that right! They only believe in free speech they agree with. If you voice a differing opinion too often and stand firm in your beliefs it's only a matter of time before he cries and calls for your banishment because you're a "shill" and "sealioning".
