I had a hard time chopping an onion for the wife's lunch last night. My doctors have been almost entirely useless over the last three decades, dozens of them. I feel like I've been defrauded by a bunch of people only interested in making money and not their patients. When 2016 hit, doctors cut all their pain patients off opiates out of self-interest. The amount of suffering they allowed is unconscionable.

You see scientists and doctors as gods, they don't deserve that. They're wrong all the time and often they don't try at all so they don't risk their careers.

I'm not sure why you'd mention any of this here, but to be clear about problems you mention (without knowing the specific circumstances): the main problem is the corrupt US healthcare system. Doctors take their orders from that system. What doctors and scientists recommend about healthcare is a different disucussion, and no one sees them as gods.

On another topic: there is a philosophical discussion addressing the highest aims in life. One can aim to be a giant or a god.

Carswell is critical of several users in the chat and recently kicked/banned one of them from the 'subscribed' channel, immediately thereafter spamming it with trucker protest information. He wanted to dictate what would be in the chat box. It meant that there was no chatting for much of that afternoon; just the Carswell spam and the rare comment. This (kind of idiocy) is how Saidit remains stagnant or will die. EDIT: the spam is thereafter saved as 'chat snippets' in s/StandUpWindsor .

getting another doctor

I've tried nearly all the doctors within driving distance at this point. I just wish I could find someone better than me, but I can't. To be fair, that's a tall order.

Blame big pharma and parasitical insurance companies please. Not science or doctors who are at their wits end with conflicting tensions and endless drama, thinking they're about to be sued with every stroke of the pen. No one sees scientists and doctors as gods, although they do come close given how many millions of lives they save every year. The alternative is Afghanistan and I've seen what that looks like. Thank god for science and rationality. More please. Terribly sorry for your predicament, but my point is to see beyond your own nose to root causes, rather than the immediate blocker.

doctors

No, they absolutely do not get a pass. There needs to be an answering for all their failures in healthcare over the last few decades. If it was one thing maybe we could be understanding. But it's not just covid, it's not just about off label uses, it's not just about ineffective meds prescribed for profit, it's not just about the opiate crisis, it's not just about then fucking over their legitimate pain patients.

We can't just hope they start policing themselves. We need accountability for these scum bags. There's what amounts to widespread fraud being being perpetrated here. We need lawsuits, we need harsh jail sentences that serve as a warning this will no longer be tolerated.

Most doctors are over privaliged and entitled and they are only in it for the money. They do not care one iota about you or me or the medical profession. I have never even had a doctor mention to me the importance of completing a course of antibiotics. Not once in my entire life and then when antibiotics are not working anymore they blame the patients for not completing their course. Many of them are just downright evil that is why they continue prescribing medications that they know have severe mind altering effects like depression and suicidal thoughts.
