I was about to bring this up with u/d3rr. I like Skeeter Ed but he gets spammy as hell, and I have the same concern. It's been quiet lately.

As a compromise, what if he was allowed just the one account people could block so they didn't have to see his stuff if they don't want to? He makes a lot of them, but I can spot him pretty easily if he doesn't agree to it.

I can send you a list of his accounts as I see them and he's not a dumb guy, we nuke those faster than he makes them he won't have any option but to comply.

He's a dying drug brother ... it's actually the most interesting thing happening here. A human life, a sociopath, dying out. And he's disturbingly a lot like me. Most people don't appreciate this super nova going on, but it's a star burning out.

Kinda dumb these dudes want to hear news aggregate content over him honestly. But ... users. ::Redit shrug::

great points and a very human way to think about him. im with you. i actually don't go out of my way to ban him at all. i only do shit when he gets too randy and starts his death threats on me. so half of his accounts are him wanting new accounts for his own reasons. but sure if you want to try to talk some sense into him i will abide. tell me what you want and we'll do it.

I'm biased. We're the same kind of person, Ed and I. In 20 years I'll probably be that. Not looking forward to it. I like the idea forum friends would care about me when nobody else does.

Maybe I’m a bit dismissive of this post because I’ve been here long enough to see the Skeeter cycle wax and wane, sometimes even drift into normalcy once in awhile. Like you said, it’s pretty easy to spot.

We can do our best to keep making new users aware there’s a rogue shitposter who makes alts and spams wild shit sometimes—but he’s like the mascot we didn’t want or ask for; he’s like a fucked up jiminy cricket you have to trap under a glass sometimes.
