Do you realize that you are the only person who has ever complemented my code online, in contrast to the innumerable insults that I have gotten for my code? So you are a freak like me. Embrace your freakishness and reject modern culture.

I'm probably the only person that bothered to look. suckless planted the seeds for me.

I'm probably the only person that bothered to look.

Not at all. For example this thread about my parser. All modern scum who see my code hate it.

suckless planted the seeds for me.

To make these seeds grow, read the Old Testament.

No thanks, I'm a New Testament kind of guy.

All races are overwhelmingly modern scum.

    so everyone then

Most. The Amish are resisting to some extent. Tribes in jungles lack the capacity to be modern scum, but that's not a compliment. A tiny fraction of people in 1st world countries also resist, but obviously no one on the internet.

Our societies have been deliberately guided towards this modern slavery for quite some time, and it appears the elites/cabal/globalists believe they're ready for the next phase.

"A tiny fraction of people in 1st world countries also resist, but obviously no one on the internet."

Why do you think this? Because they are on the Internet?

Aside from the 'scum' part, being on the internet makes you pretty modern. I tend to think 'Uncle Ted' was correct in his assessment of modern technology, and we'll be very lucky if it doesn't destroy our species.

That's not what you said, though. You were talking about resistance. Resistance happens all the time, in every people group, in all places. That is the human spirit, and it is never fully squashed out. I will not lie and say that modernized folk resist often. They don't...

But using technology as a sort of litmus test is silly. I personally know Amish folk who are willing to use the internet for their business. They are still accepted by the Amish community. I also know that those same Amish use a modern machine to treat their wood.

If you are in the West, you have to play along to some degree. Unless you are a squatter in the woods, of course.

I personally know Amish folk who are willing to use the internet for their business.

Or have their phone right at the edge of their property so "it's not on my land". That's why I said 'to some extent'.

What I meant about resistance was resistance to the modern tech that's supplanting (eroding?) our humanness, and driving our societies insane. I strongly believe that advanced technologies like computers, the internet, and all the rest are going to destroy our species.

At the same time, I'm somewhat okay with that, as I also strongly believe people have a God-given-right to the consequences of their behaviors. I mean 'God-given' in the most literal sense.

    A disaster is coming - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEv3HRIVPUQ

But perhaps we're just near the end of our allotted time. Maybe the cosmic forces and energies we don't understand yet are affecting us and our behaviors as much as they're affecting the bodies in our solar system, and in our surrounding neighborhood. Look at charts of the human timeline up to present day and you see a species that's suddenly exploded.

1859 was the first major indicator that our galactic neighborhood was going downhill, even if we've only recognized that recently. That was around when we first hit the edge of the galactic current sheet, and it (the carrington event) caused the polar drift of our planet to do an immediate 180 degree reversal in drift direction.

So, I don't know. Is our current society an inevitable result of those forces too? Whatever the cause, an objective look at our path so far doesn't offer much hope for our future.

I'll finally end this caffeine-fueled... Whatever it is, and mention that this is why /u/chipit claims I'm a CIA shill who is paid to demoralize saidit users. But I say, ignoring reality is no way to go through life, even if ignorance is bliss.

I see where you are coming from, and I don't disagree on many points. I just see far more hope and resistance than most people, and I feel like a tired old dog for trying to get folks to take a sunnier look on things

Not unrealistic, just more fair and balanced. More realistic.

I don't disagree with the things you are staying about catastrophic events. We are in for one soon, and instead of using our knowledge and skills, we flounder in a sea of product.

Nope! That's a lie about the CIA. To everyone: he's definitely a paid social media influencer though. He glows like a neon sign.
