calling someone a shill (without evidence) is against the Pyramid of Debate

Agreed but a ban is 'repeatedly' going down the pyramid of debate right?

Yes. I'm going to try to bring back the old 3 strikes system for bans. Blatant trolls and porn posters and new alt accounts however might still get instant banned.

We've been literally destroying the site for 3 years now. SaidIt is saidit, it's not going to change.

d3rr: We've been literally destroying the site for 3 years now. SaidIt is saidit, it's not going to change.

oh my gawd.. if you worked for me as a moderator and you said some bullshit like that, it wouldnt take me two nanoseconds to shitcan you and throw your ass to the curb.

you, mr d3rr, are an absolute amateur.

i would actually be willing to help you, but not if your responses to me are going to be that you have accepted that the ship is sinking and that you think that is funny.

did you even listen to one word that i said? this is why i do not enjoy consulting with kids, cuz they think like kids.

if m7 put me in charge of this site, i would implement my suggested changes and the problems would evaporate.

just fyi, i am working on a huge programming project that has taken me 17 years to complete.

I am looking forward to absolute success.

I am also looking forward to operating a very nice forum.

dude you edited to add way more info, not my fault.

If you want to implement block user per post/thread, that would be awesome, go for it, submit a PR on the github.

with all respect, i am not here to work as an engineer at saidit, but if i was this bullshit that is going on would come to a screeching halt in about two nanoflops.

i am not here to work as an unpaid engineer in your little github nonsense.

i made a suggestion, and you mocked me, and so i am finished making suggestions.

i have been writing software since way the fk before you even knew what a diaper is.

i was writing C code before your mama had hit puberty.

and you cant sit up in your chair and attempt to have an intelligent conversation and attempt to formulate some plans to resolve the current situation?

and you wanna joke that omg we have been destroying this site for three years?

crawl the fk off my dick, with all respect.

and if you wanna ban me, i will just make another account.

With all due respect, your replies have been overly aggressive from the get-go. It's understandable that you don't want to do something without being paid, that you have years of experience, etc., but no one is demanding that you do anything. It was simply them letting you know that if you have something helpful to add, you're welcome to it. There's not an implied obligation or expectation here. Please chill the fuck out.

I'm sorry I mocked you. I don't believe that being able to block a user in a particular thread would solve any of saidits core issues. I see the core issues as vote manipulation through multiple accounts and spam and the whole on /s/all vs not on /s/all dilemma.

wouldnt it be interesting if it were possible to see which useraccounts voted for comments or posts?

and if the admins could not only see who did the voting, but it could also see the ip address of the person that did the voting? this would make it much more difficult for someone to vote scam the site and it would even be possible to allow only one vote from a single ip address.

i almost guarantee you that reddit has some extensive code running that does exactly this.

jason carswell just got banned because of an argument with another user.

he was an long standing and active user in this forum.

to me, banning him was a clear sign that management has their heads shoved up their asses.

the jason carswell problem could have been dealt with in a much more diplomatic manner.

i did not witness the argument that caused him to be banned, but anyways.

Jason and socks both refused to block* each other, for months and months. But if admins could have forced them to block each other, maybe that would have been better. Maybe socks would have used your block-per-post idea, but Jason certainly wouldn't have.
