The spam attacks come in waves.
This wave seems related to the superpeople, who have been under attack on reddit. The attackers probably have destroyed their own lives, so they feel no regret destroying other people's lives.

What a timeline we live in where legitimately people say to each other "this attack seems like it's because of the superpeople" and everyone just nods there head and understands.
