I'd like to remind everyone there is a "block user" and a "block sub" button under every post and every comment. Please use them! You can unblock users by clicking the "blocked" tab on the preferences page, or unblock subs by going to that sub directly and hitting "unblock sub" under any post there.

Yes, they vanish but it does not prevent replies - and it does not notify users they have been blocked, so they are essentially wasting their time responding to someone who will never see it.

I avoided using "hide" because it could also refer to the [-] collapse function with an [+] expand, which may be misleading.

Adding a block expiry is a brilliant idea!
