He's 50% insightful and 50% shill. That's part of their shilling charm. Most people on SaidIt are too smart and/or independent to fall for their bullshit.

Edit: And/or skeptical.

IMO, you're smart and seem independent. However, you seem to not be skeptical enough to see the patterns of socks (and Chipit). Tom often seems too skeptical and hasty to call many shills, and rarely provides evidence.

Maybe Tom and I are wrong and he really is just a clever/stupid civilian with profound blind spots, tendencies to revert back to trusting the corporatocracy, and the talent to appear like annoying (and dangerous) agenda driven shills due to too much propaganda brainwashing.

Socks like opposition, I think that's what you're seeing. He's smart but he's also young. If he was a shill, why would he be here were the majority is unlikely to agree with him.

So you think he's just a glutton for punishment with a penchant for polite troll-esque discussions, like a mere hobby. Tis but a proclivity for an intellectual challenge and a dalliance with debate.

Well, he's not just here for a challenge. He's here propagating dangerous misinformation and propping up the mafia establishment in one of the few places where people can seek-truth, mostly uncensored.

Paid or not, ignorant or not, he's still shilling for the enemy.

LOL. Close. Too bright. It's still dark here, can't sleep, he's fatter, older, and so is his computer, but the expression is similar, minus the hair.

I hope you don't still use a CRT, those are awful on your eyes.

I had one when I moved here 9.5 years ago that I bought in 2003. It was "huge" back then, 22" 1600x1200, part of a pair to animate at home with. At some point I tried using it with my laptop, but the degauss didn't work anymore or whatever. I can't recall what I did with it after it was a solid heavy "table" for my cat's nest. Those days are a fog.

Why don't they make square monitors? IMO better in many cases.

I log in, early morning. Think "Great, messages to read! Ahhh fuck, it's this again."

Ironleft astroturfed where I posted this for the embed. So now a lot of people probably think I'm calling you a shill now too.

Nah - I think Fred sums up the image rather well, and the grumpy face says it all - and anyone reading the popular Saidit posts will get it.

I'd hardly call it punishment. Maybe you come away with the same beliefs as you did before, but that doesn't make the other person feel beaten. In most of the conversations I've had on here where there has been disagreement, I certainly didn't feel like I was being beaten down by some superior mind. Just because the other guy didn't agree that CO2 is a potent greenhouse gas, doesn't mean I feel beaten. You just realize after hanging out on here a while that people cling to their beliefs, and it doesn't matter how good of a case you make. I can cite all the science I want, ChristianMusic is still gonna say the earth is 10,000 years old.

Unproductive debates should best be avoided, but when on saidit they're usually mixed in with more interesting conversations, so it's worth staying.

I know. I agree.

And I can agree to disagree. And I can think that more than one view can be valid at the same time. And I can be corrected and learn. There are many potential outcomes.

Or I can find that brainwashed or intentionally the guy is shilling for mafia authoritarianism and dangerous vaccines, pretending to have discourse of discovery while ignoring all evidence presented to the contrary to continue shilling harm and being a timesuck.
