Uh, I don't really get personally involved with the thousands of random people on internet forums. Sometimes you might recognize handles if they keep making really good comments, that's about it though. Besides, I've seen photos of "reddit meetups" - shudder.

But it's not thousands here, it's a hundred people contributing maybe. I know most people here, I'd figure you would too.

Or have a really awesome handle like AmericanMuskrat. Seriously, I have noticed a difference in the frequency and tone of responses determinate upon my user name. Probably the best response I ever got was a name that made some people thought was female -- not intentionally of course.

Yeah, it's obvious you're here for the feelgoods because that's obviously lacking in some other part of your life. That's kinda sad. It goes a long way to explain why people get so worked up about this site though - they don't have anything else. Jeez, this is just a website. I post and comment on, what...two dozen maybe? All Chipit needs is a bunch of mindless followers and/or sock-puppets and/or bots to get 3 or 4 votes and solidly onto the front page to be updooted because most folks are NOT good filters, nor do they weigh the pros and cons of the torrent of incoming stuff.

Why does he need "a bunch"? Because M7 looks for give-away behaviour. How? I have no clue. How often? Ditto.

This bias pooling is a critical weakness of all Reddit-type forums everywhere.

Pet Peeve: I HATE that it's called "voting". The "points" are "likes" and "dislikes" or "insightful" and "fun" - not upvote and downvote. We're not in an election for politicians or policies and if we actually wanted to do surveys the word "vote" may be confusing.

LOL you're doing it right now. You're trying to get to know me. Look, I'm just some guy who reads a lot and shares what he reads. Just another random handle on some website somewhere. I like to flatter myself by thinking that my links are offbeat and worth reading, rather than the usual "Breaking news" B.S. and give some badly needed exposure to people and ideas who wouldn't get seen otherwise. Most of what I post never gets upvoted and goes nowhere. That's about as much thought as I put into this handle on this website.
