I ran a Clash of Clans group of clans for 3 years. Wife thought it'd be fun to play a game together. Turned out we were way more successful at this than we thought we'd be. Turned into a 300 person affair. Running it was like a full time job that didn't pay anything.

Pretty soon off it became apparent I'd have to make some hard decisions. We started off as a friendly affair but it became competitive. To compete your members have to perform regularly. So people I liked had to get the axe. All sorts of drama and whatnot. Still, we did well.

One day I realized even though we had built this impressive thing but it was just pointless work and misery for me and I quit and have been happier ever since. I do not play phone games anymore.
