I think this is how you kill a site like saidit. Both the prohibition of expressing ones opinion, and the threats by an admin.

Despite being one of the oldest accounts here (one of a handful of antiextreams.com users), I've spent most of recent years on free speech sites. So I can't say definitively that attacks on free speech here are the main reason saidit never gained users, but having to walk on eggshells when expressing oneself is generally not very popular.

However, I realize M7 made a rule against advocating certain 'types' of violence, so try to refrain when I'm here on saidit. (aside from that one drunk-posting episode...)

I remind that there was that recent incident where a saidit-user-who-shall-not-be-named-in-this-comment advocated for violence against pedophiles.

To be fair, M7 is one of the better site owners out there. If anyone is familiar with the contrasting styles of Puttitout versus AOU, M7s quirks are not 'terrible'. It is kind of disappointing that they've inhibited saidits growth to the extent they have.

(but actual free speech brings attacks from youknowwho that can make life difficult for a site owner)

Advocating violence is against the rules, so yes, if he ever does that, which I don't believe he has: he'll be dealt with.
