OP what you are seeing is that self-voting is "allowed and remembered", but that it does not affect the score. Reddit works the same way. We have a proposed task to allow full self voting in the future, where your funny vote would give it another point and where you could un-insightful yourself to start a post/comment at 0 points.

Yeah this is one we should really fix. We had that bug once where you could add points by voting your own post funny, but it wouldn't remove the points when you unvoted. So it was half working at one point. We just have to reactivate that bit and then write a new bit to subtract when funny is un-voted.
