What have you all got going on tonight? My neighbors have got fireworks out the wazoo so I'll just step outside around midnight and check it out haha

Cheers man. I talked by lady into karaoke Auld Lang Syne at midnight. And I have a deviled egg with jalapeno on top.

FUCK 2020

The family and I are going to freeze our asses off shooting off fireworks tonight and then we're going to really freeze our asses off camping tomorrow. Got some steaks for breakfast before heading out to the camp site, it's become a new tradition for us to have steak to start off the new year right.

That sounds dope. My family doesn't do cool stuff like that. If I'm lucky enough to start my own, they definitely will.

A number of the traditions we follow were just wacky ideas I had once and then my wife would keep it alive year after year. Like the Christmas Cock. One year I thought it'd be funny to keep sending my brother pictures of roosters and balls because well... That escalated into rooster themed Christmas gifts. Neither him or his wife particularly like roosters, but I have filled his home with cock over the years. She absolutely hates it, huge bonus.

The camping thing is my niece's idea though. I think it's going to be a disaster in freezing wet weather but it'll make one hell of a story so I'm in.

Not my idea. I tried to talk them out of it. Just... It is going to funny either way and those are memories ya know. Also as the most experienced camper among the group --which isn't saying much-- I feel like if a beer were to show up or something shows up I could definitely best it. Probably even a whole case of them at once.

We just returned home from camping. It was peaceful. Started chilly, but warmed up by the last day. We're now back in the city - in the South US. Which pretty much means it's been gunfire and fireworks all day, peaking to insanity in about 90 mins.

Tomorrow will be the traditional New Years good luck dinner of pork and hoppin john. I'll eat a lot, just to be safe.

I visited my mom. Every year, comedians in this country (the Netherlands) will do a "this year in review" type show and we watched those. At midnight we went upstairs to check the fireworks in the distance. And we listened to music and had oliebollen.

Oh is it like a Dutch version of the UK's "Big Fat Quiz of 2020" show with Jimmy Carr?

Sounds pretty chill. I had to look them up but oliebollen sounds good! Fried ice cream lol

I don't know that show. Our comedy is a bit different. We have cabaret, which is less focused on one-liners than stand-up comedy is. It's slower, has a narrative element, and includes music, often as interludes to pure comedy bits. (The comedian will sing, and often play piano alongside it.) In terms of form, the shows are quite typical, just that the subject matter is the past year. Oliebollen are great. Definitely try them if you come here during the right season.

Feel better soon! Make sure to take some vitamin D and C, they helped me when I had it. And studies show vitamin d levels correlate pretty well to how sick a person gets with covid too. Best wishes

omega-3 is the missing ingredient. No studies have controlled for it, but it is vital for neuronal repair

I personally like krill oil a lot, it's just so goddamned expensive. It's mildly useful for inflammation at the very least.

    [–]bobbobbybob 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

    does it contain omega-3?

    [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah and something extra I'd look up if I wasn't freezing my ass camping rn.

    [–]bobbobbybob 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)
