No downvotes just allows whomever was first to dominate discussion.

Even on reddit - I would often reply to a heavily upvoted post, and btfo them with facts - only to see my comment rise, and their upvoted post to go into the dumpster. To be able to pull that off, in Marxistville homeland was truly awesome.

The problem with reddit was the admin level bans, rules - and who controlled the subs. It was never the downvote feature.

I disagree.
On reddit I am usually downvoted beyond the bottom.
On Saidit I am still somewhere in the middle or even on the top.
This means that I am able to give a good argument that might conflict the narrative or the fake news.

On reddit a majority of the posts are completely dominated by click-farms, bots and reposts.
And manipulations by the admins.
Some discussions on reddit are only interesting after sorting on "controversial".

Weather your arguements get more traction and upvoted and weather you deserve it is anecdotal at best.
