So what happens when people continually push for subsaidits to be removed that they don't like, and the server company forces you to close down those too?

I don't think we have any other subs that violate their AUP in practice

That's fair, you made the right decision in this instance because you were literally cornered into it. It just seems like if one crazy person is able to pressure the company into almost taking down the site, I can't imagine the way they react when they get boycotted by a group of borderline insane retards.
