You exist in a comfort zone of denial. As society continues marching into the destruction of social cohesion, more people start asking why...and they will find the answer. I don't do Voat, and don't need to. Any uncensored platform embraces a more truthful explanation for the sad state of the world.

It's amusing watching your growing discomfort at coming to terms with this. We all have coping mechanisms, and you are no exception. Just keep telling yourself comforting lies. But, inevitably you will have to face the fact that you have miscalculated trends and intentionally let yourself be misinformed about the ruling classes narrative.

What discomfort? I'm making fun of how desperate you are to lie about your numbers. I'm pretty comfortable. You, however, are so upset by this you need to project your feelings onto me. There is no "social cohesion" problem, literally the United States for its entire history has been a ton of disparate states all demanding they be able to retain autonomy. In fact they've been clawing back that independence ever since WW2, after the great dictator FDR finally died. Independence, individualism, and atomism, has been the core of the USA since its inception.

Oh goody! the "diversity social cohesion" myth again! You haven't actually read anything about it have you? Diversity has no effect on social capital. The reason Americans are less trusting than ever is actually the real reason behind personality degradation. Health. Obesity. The less healthy you perceive yourself to be, the less trusting you are of other people, because the more neurotic you are. That's causal. Not a correlation like Putnam and the bullshit you cite.

How cute, really grasping at straws there. You present for perusal a no name author, with only tangential experience in anything remotely related to a sociological background. Who then proceeds to cobble together a flimsy "critique" as he says, of studies by actual real scientists that have previously concluded that invasive immigration is socially destructive.

In conclusion, I don’t think the social-scientific literature I am aware of has compellingly shown that diversity qua diversity has an important effect on social cohesion.

I present a blog post by a well recognized participant from your "side of the isle" summarizing a number of very well done studies with large sample sizes. We can discuss the merits of the individual research if you wish, I'm familiar with all of it, but I suspect you've never read a single one in your life. Case in point: You don't know what the null hypothesis is.

If repeatedly well done research fails to demonstrate a causal effect... you do not have evidence to support your proposition. In other words, the strongest negation of your beliefs possible. That you think this is somehow a weak refutation says a lot more about you, and a sad lack of education.

The majority of studies conclude that invasive immigration is the primary cause of lack of social cohesion. Most people in the sociological field reject the premise of your blog post author. I'm sorry this conflicts with your narrow minded view of the world, but you must come to terms with this.

...A link to summaries of all major works to replicate and analyze causal analysis of Putnam's initial hypothesis. From someone who agreed, originally, with you. By, yes, actual scientists. You can read the studies themselves. Do you actually want to discuss any of them? Or do I give up and block you?

Did you ever stop and wonder why the blog post you presented is never cited as proof by professionals? Because it's fundamentally flawed and intellectually dishonest. Not all studies by Putnam were precisely replicated. So this unscrupulous author only cherry picks studies that further his point that were not replicated.

Over 70% of Putnams findings were replicated. According to authors from the very same website you previously linked.
